Why did Obama get RE-Elected??!!

BlueRepublican 2012/11/13 23:52:26
I honestly want to ask this question. I usually get on my humble little SH soapbox and try to draw attention to certain issues and causes (tax reform, entitlement reform, campaign finance reform, prohibition, etc...)

But this one is for the entire community. WHY did Obama get re-elected? I mean, I just don't get it!!

Anyone who has a 401k or hopes to retire and live off a pension does not benefit from a second term.

Anyone who is successful or owns a small business does not benefit from a second term.

Anyone who believes in traditional marriage and is pro-life does not benefit from a second term.

Anyone who is pro-2nd amendment does not benefit.

Job creators, entrepenuers, business owners, large and small investors, energy producers, working folks whose taxes are going up to pay for Obamacare, retired folks on a pension, young workers who want to invest, anyone concerned about the national debt does not benefit from a second Obama term.

Unemployed people or underemployed workers, debt-saddled graduates who can't find a job, anyone concerned about personal Liberty and Constitutional freedoms being protected does not benefit from a second term.

I think I just listed over 50% of Americans in this country. So then what gives? What went wrong? Why did Obama get re-elected??!!
You!

He got re-elected because MOST people in the United States believe the wealthy need to pay more in taxes.

Most women want control of their bodies. Only IDIOTIC Christian Fundamentalist women do not.

The Republicans caused the recession that wiped out everyone's 401K . Are you trying to lie your way out of that and blame it on the Democrats? It won't work.

Romney insulted 47% of Americans, calling them irresponsible and moochers. And you're SUPRISED that most Americans did not vote for him? That actually SHOCKS you? REALLY?

Those are just a few reasons. Your party DISGUSTS the MAJORITY of the American Electorate. That is why you got your ass kicked. And guess what? You will get your ass kicked AGAIN in 2016. So stop you damn whining already ...it's pathetic.

You might also want to ask why, in spite of the enthusiasm expressed by Republicans leading up to november 6th, three million fewer Republicans voted for Mitt Romney in 2012 than voted for John McCain in 2008! We are being lied to and our country is being stolen in my opinion! Couple this with the fact that fifty-nine Philadelphia precincts voted without recording a SINGLE vote for Mitt Romney is statistically impossible (19000+ to 0)!Access should be given to every individual voter to EXACTLY how their votes were recorded with this electronic voting system. I think many of us would be shocked to learn the outcome of our individual votes! Without a paper trail, how can we know if fraud occured?

Useful idiots want free stuff; the more Obama keeps unemployment above 7.8%, the more folks he puts on welfare, the more he robs from the treasury to pay his buddies, the more useful idiots vote Democrat. With his amnesty plan on the horizon, just think of the 12-20 million potential Dems will join the voting ranks. One other thought, where will these new citizens work? Cloward/Piven has arrived.

Demographic maps from the census seem to indicate the election was mostly about White vs Non-White / minorities. Where the votes deviate are the northeast and Wisconsin. Other factors there influenced white voters to vote for Obama, maybe more liberal or the White womens vote.

Obama expanded gun rights by allowing people to carry in federal parks

401 values increased under Obama. Pensions go hand in hand with union representation and Obama won't undermine unions

97-98% of small businesses make less than 250K per year and tax hikes on the wealthy won't effect them.

Jobs are created by demand for products not because the wealthy just hire people have extra money.

There are many reasons why President Obama got reelected. An important factor to the election was that President Obama was a very good campaigner, while Mitt Romney was horrific as a campaigner. What other Presidential candidate that you know of has stood on stage singing a solo rendition of "American the Beautiful'? That was so pathetic that the Obama campaign used it in their campaign ads. Mitt Romney stumbled and fumbled at every turn, from the visit to England right before the Olympics to try and look Presidential to his poor performance in the third debates. Also, I have never seen a Presidential campaign put out so many blatant lies, and then after the media proves them to be lies, they still stick with their talking points. The classic examples is when the Romney campaign claimed that President Obama removed the work for welfare requirement, or when they claimed that Chrysler was sending all Jeep jobs to China, or when Romney claimed that President Obama said "if we keep talking about the economy we are going to lose". In fact, President Obama, at the time Senator Obama was quoting John McCain, and the Romney campaign took a piece of the video out of context. You cannot continually lie to the American people and expect them to trust you.

Also, the majority of Americans perceived the Congress as being obstructionist, opposing President Obama at every turn and on every piece of legislation - even with things they supported in the past. That was the primary reason why the Congress has its lowest approval rating in 47 years at 9% according to Gallup, while President Obama had a 52% approval rating right before the election. And then Romney picks the most ideological member of the House, Paul Ryan to be his running mate. Romney lost the election on that decision alone.

Then there's the plethora of issues that Romney was on the wrong side of, from wanting to turn Medicare into a voucher program, to wanting to cut taxes for the rich, to wanting to raise defense spending, to wanting to abolish federal funding of planned parenthood, to wanting to cut education funding, to wanting to cut funding to public radio and TV, the list goes on and on. Almost every policy that Romney ran on shows to be opposed by the majority in poll after poll.

You forgot that the media also helped Obama to win. They never brought up anything negative about Obama and tried to get any piece of dirt on Romney during the entire election cycle. Why did they try and make excuses for Benghazi? or why did "fast and furious" get buried and never talked about? Instead they focused on the bogus "war on women." Even during the debates the moderators were on Obama's side. Romney had no chance.

On Fast and Furious, there was a full investigation and NO WRONG DOING was found by the Attorney General or the President. On Benghazi, the full facts have still not been released, but the latest information is that there was a CIA operation being run out of one of the buildings at the consulate compound in Benghazi.

Republican tried EVERYTHING to find something to get President Obama on so they could defeat him on November 6th. THEY FAILED.

The "war on women" was not bogus. There has been more anti-abortion legislation passed in state legislators in the last four years than in the previous 10 years combined.
The proof is in the demographic results from the election. President Obama got 55% of the women vote.

Women were duped into thinking there was an actual war on women. Most women I know are actually against abortion. And while we're on that subject, isn't murder already illegal? How many future women have been aborted? That seems like the real war on, not just women, but all of humanity. The last time I checked it takes 2 people to make a baby...so where is the father's choice on the issue? If a father is expected to either take care of his kids or pay child support to future kids I think he should be able to have a say in it as well. Where are his rights? Also think of this...why is a baby who is born prematurely at 25 weeks gestation considered more of a person than a baby who's still in the womb at 32 weeks gestation?

I haven't seen any real explanation on "fast and furious." At the very least it shows again that this is the most inept Presidential administration ever...they never have any idea what's going on with anything.

You can also turn your statement around and I find it amazing that Democrats, who demonized Bush on everything he did, find no fault with Obama on anything. "He delivered guns to the Mexican cartel, or didn't realize that his administration was doing it, well, no problem. What? People, including an American border patrol agent died with some of those guns? Well, no problem. What about Benghazi? 4 more Americans died? Well, it was because of a video....oh wait, it wasn't well, He wasn't aware of anything." " See...that wasn't his problem either." How convenient for him.

No...Bush presided over operation "wide receiver" and they were totally different programs. And once the Bush administration deemed their operation a failure they discontinued it. Obama then tried the same thing, larger in scope but with fewer safeguards. What could go wrong, right? The biggest differences are as follows...Fist of all no one died from operation "wide receiver", whereas Mexicans and Americans both died in operation "fast and furious." Secondly, in operation "wide receiver" they at least attempted to place chips in the guns to track them but the Obama administration did no such thing in their operation. Thirdly, the Bush administration worked with the Mexican government in their operation but the Obama administration didn't tell them anything about it.

How do you know that tracking chips were not placed into the guns in Fast and Furious? That item would be classified information, and a good reason why there was nothing found in the investigation by Rep Issa and no further action taken.

If Republicans think that President Obama did something wrong or broke the law with Fast and Furious or the attack in Benghazi or anything else, then the Republicans in the House should impeach him. Go for it. I want them to try it, because that would be the last straw for the American people. Republicans would keep losing elections and seats in Congress for many years to come.

I don't think that's classified...that info is everywhere....but even if they did put tracking devices on them, that's even worse because a lot of these guns are still being found. So they track them and leave them in the drug gang's hands? That's really genius. I think they should impeach Obama...his scandals are worse than anything Nixon did with Watergate or Clinton with Monica (blowjob) Lewinski. At least nobody died because of them.

The program of walking guns across the boarder was started in 2006 and 2007 called Operation Wide Receiver under the Bush administration, but there was no investigation of the practice back then. It was only when a boarder patrol agent Brian Terry was killed at the border did an investigation start. This was an ATF scandal, not a DOJ or Executive branch scandal, but Republicans tried to use it for political purposes trying to blame President Obama and Attorney General Holder.

As far as Clinton, Presidents having mistresses is nothing new. Roosevelt, Kennedy and others had mistresses, and even Eisenhower, when he was a General in Europe had a mistress named Kay Somersby, who was his British driver. Nobody made a big deal about it until the Republicans set out to impeach Clinton for political gain, and they went looking for a reason to impeach him. They investigated several things and found nothing illegal, and then they came upon the Monica Lewinski story, and the Paula Jones story and used that.

The operation Wide receiver was different from Fast and Furious for several reasons.

    1) The Bush Administration worked with the Mexican government in their operation, whereas the Obama Administration didn't even tell the Mexican government about it.
    2) The Bush Administration used tracking devices to track the guns, but the Obama Administration used no such devices.
    3) The scope of the operation and amount of guns used was much higer in operation Fast and Furious... 2000 guns vs about 300 in Operation Wide Receiver.
    4) Operation Wide Receiver did not result in any deaths.

    http://poorrichardsnews.com/p...

None of these guys...as far as we know brought their mistresses into the White House for their affairs. Even if they did, it's probably not a good practice to have your President fooling around with a bunch of women. If he can lie and cheat his family like that and not feel bad about it then what does that say about how he would feel about lying and cheating the American people. Morals do matter because it can be a predictor about what type of decisions a person will make in the future. If it's someone's personality to lie and cheat, that's not going to change when they go to work.

First of all, there were about 450 guns that crossed the Mexican border in operation wide receiver, and most were never recovered. That was when the program first started in 2006/2007.

Secondly, the same agent in charge out of the Phoenix ATF office in operation wide receiver, William Newell, was also the same agent that was in charge of fast and furious. The operations were no different except for the number of guns.

Thirdly, it cannot be determined if there were deaths as a result of operation wide receiver, as the majority of the guns were never recovered, and murder by the drug cartels have been going on for decades.

What do you mean "as far as we know"? You are making erroneous assumptions. It's well known that both Roosevelt and Kennedy had affairs IN the White House. With Kennedy, it was a 19 year old intern named Mimi Alpert, who would often swim with the President in the White House pool, and sleep with the President in a White House bedroom.

The hypocrisy on the part of the Republican party was unbelievable. When the Republicans were impeaching President Clinton for lying about an alleged affair with Paula Jones under oath in a civil law suit, two of the Republican impeachment managers, Henry Hyde and Bob Barr both had affairs when they were in the Congress, and Newt Gingrich, who was leading the drive for impeachment, also had an extra-marital affair with his current wife before he got divorced, and when he was the Speaker of the House.

In all the cases, with Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, and Clinton no laws were broken. All of their mistresses were consenting adults, and there was no rape.

Those others may have also had affairs at the White House but my original point was, not that they broke laws, but that it shows bad morals and a propensity to lie to others. Not something you really want in a leader. And is it a coincidence but most of those names you came up with (the Presidents that had mistresses) were Democrats. Hmmmm. I don't know where you got your information about operation Wide Receiver but even if it was true, 400 guns is a lot less to lose than 2000. At least they tried to track them in Wide Receiver....it's just that the chips were faulty. In Fast and Furious they didn't even attempt to track the guns.
