The U.S. has military bases established in nations across the world, but does the U.S. allow other nations to establish their bases on U.S. soil? Why?

The US considers itself the Alpha Dog. We speak loudly and carry a big stick, right? No way would there ever be other countries setting up bases on American soil.

Whereas our constitution forbids the deployment of the military against civilians, many other nations do not. Also, many other countries view the US presence as an economic boon and source of security. In some cases, that feeling of security can conflict with concerns about national autonomy and outrage at the misbehavior by soldiers.

In the US, the public views the presence of foreign powers as a threat to US security and it raises suspicions that whomever invited them in has split loyalties and is looking to circumvent posse comitatus. If the US were a lesser military and economic power, and where our immediate neighbors were hostile to the survival of the US, we'd welcome other nations with open arms. That's the bottom line. There may also be fears that if we do invite another nation to open a base here, it is because we have become a lesser, dependent, nation.

Plus why is it necessary to have other countries military bases in the United States? The fact that it's the other way around say's to me that the United States is taking care of business and have their eagle eye on things.

Well, most of the countries we have bases in are those we've had trouble with. Take Germany for instance. Several countries kept bases there for the longest kind of time to keep them from causing anymore trouble. Same with Japan.

I've often brought that point up to many people who support our occupations of other countries. Then I ask would they consider themselves a "terrorist" or "insurgent" when they took up arms against the occupying country. You should see the looks on their faces when confronted with reality.....lol.

Why surely you jest! Bullies do not like others on their turf, but sure don't mind picking on and invading other peoples turf That's the way it has always been and the way it's always been for the worlds leading stealers and killers too since its conception or at least when it ways easier to travel.

I really do not know for sure. However, I think the US has established military bases in other nations because they have allied with those nations in a war at one time or another. Also, at times, they have received support from nations not directly involved in a war, but the nation may sympathize with our plight or cause and be strategically located to give the US a faster reaction time and a greater overall advantage. With that being said, I do not think there has been such a war that has place the US in position to aid any other nation in this same manner. We once bragged that we had never been attacked on our own soil. We can no longer make that claim and it frightens me a little to think that we are again making a boast that we would not need help in a war at home or that we would never lose a war at home. Having seen the depths to which some of these nations are willing to delve, I cringe when I read such arrogant statements for fear that again somebody is lying in wait to prove otherwise.

Well, simply put, we have not had a war here in the US since our civil war, we have not been invaded by other nations and lost, I guess if we were invaded and lost, the invading country might want to have a base here, since we do that everywhere else in the world...

The United States of America would never lose a war here on our soil, we just have a superior military than everyone else in the world (which is a good thing)...

We don't need any help, but apparently all those other countries do.
