MYTH: Democrats in Congress keep trumpeting the benefits of a public option, but refuse to accept the plan for themselves and their families.

Many opponents of health care reform assert that members of Congress should enroll in the public option they are forcing down America's throat - even citing a House Ways & Means amendment to that effect that was defeated in committee.

    REBUTTAL:

Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma introduced a sarcastic amendment requiring members of Congress to enroll in the public option - and the Democrats passed it! Democrats are not against enrolling in the option they make available to the American public. We're all in this together.

Senate HELP Committee Passed Amendment To "Require Members Of Congress To Enroll In The Government-Run Public Plan." According to Congressional Quarterly, "the panel adopted by 12-11 an amendment by Tom Coburn, R-Okla., that would require members of Congress to enroll in the government-run public plan created by the legislation. 'We should take the lead, sacrifice and demonstrate our faith on how good we think this will be, Coburn said." [Congressional Quarterly, 7/14/09, subscription required]

Government-Administered Medicare Is Actually More Efficient Than Private Insurance. The Council for Affordable Health Insurance, "a research and advocacy association of insurance carriers," published a report stating: "Administrative costs are lower under Medicare than for private health insurance." The report added, "our best estimates indicate Medicare at slightly above 5% of total Medicare cost in 2003, whereas the government currently reports about 2%... The private market administrative costs are expected to remain at about 9% of total private insurance cost, excluding premium taxes, commissions, and profit. With such items, private costs would be slightly under 17%." [CAHI, Medicare versus Private Health Insurace: The Cost of Administration, 1/6/06]

Send us copies or links of the media demanding that the voters get the same health care plan as Cong, Sen Fed Employees and Unions.

Myth: Dems want better health care,

Fact: Dems want to use health care to build control over the voters.

Myth: Dems are concerned about the health care of the voters and want a better plan.

Fact: Dems don't care about the people. The people are being assigned to 2nd Class Citizenry. Only Cong, sen, Fed Employees and Unions will be regarded as 1st Class citizens and get the preferred health care plan..

    I know it.

The post is meant to get your attention for your inferior health care from Obama, while his minions receive the superior health care.

And the media just ignores the whole thing. The AP puts 11 writers on Palin's book. But can't come up with one reporter to investigate the Superior health care for the politicians and govt workers vs the inferior non govt workers.

Why isn't the media focusing on the elite health care plan that is maintained by Congress, Senate, Fed Employees and Unions?

Why is not one politician even mentioning this?

Alan Grayson wants to talk about how the republicans are killing people by obstructing his form of peasant health care. Why isn't he demanding that the voters get the same plan that he has?

Where is this great health care plan for federal employees? I have several relatives who are federal employees, and they are all surprised to hear they have a superior plan. You wouldn't be pulling our legs, would you?

This would be a great START at "fixing" Congress, but, realistically, it would NEVER pass in the House, nor the Senate. If the Congress did pass something of this nature, you can bet that it would be so watered down that it would be meaningless.

In reality, our Constitution says that they cannot pass laws that do not apply to them.

I had always believed that to be the case also, but I have yet to find anything that SPECIFICALLY states it. I believe that it may merely "implied". And, as we all know only too well, if it isn't SPECIFICALLY stated, the jerks in Congress will take all the advantages they can get, when it comes to separating the American taxpayer from their monies.

Although Obama and Congress are furthering the usurpation of the American citizens, it is being done by BOTH party's at this time. I believe we need to start a COMPLETE and TOTAL clean out of ALL incumbents, regardless of party affiliation.

While that sounds great, the apathy that the average American citizen has towards ALL politics, concerns me as to whether Congress would follow their constituents or not. Look at the ways this current Congress has openly ignored what their constituents have demanded, in favor of their "I KNOW WHAT'S BEST FOR YOU !!!" attitudes.
