Right now, only 10% of the cash assistance households have to do the work program.
All kinds of ways to get out of that, all approved by democrates.
Of all the welfare going to families, only about 10% are cash assistance.
If the claim were true, it would affect 1% of the welfare households. Big deal.
This is like calling Obama the food stamp president. The Democrates want to believe it, and so do Republicans, so everyone pretends it is true.
At a Republican debate last Monday, former speaker Newt Gingrich claimed that “more people have been put on food stamps by Barack Obama than any president in American history.” The Gingrich campaign quickly released a commercial the next day touting the same claim but it turns out that’s not true, according to research by the Annernberg Public Policy Center’s FactCheck.org.

“Gingrich would have been correct to say the number now on food aid is historically high,” according to the most recent figures looked at by FactCheck.org. More details below:

But Gingrich goes too far to say Obama has put more on the rolls than other presidents. We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. But Gingrich goes too far to say Obama has put more on the rolls than other presidents. We asked the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food and Nutrition service for month-by-month figures going back to January 2001. And they show that under President George W. Bush the number of recipients rose by nearly 14.7 million. Nothing before comes close to that.

And under Obama, the increase so far has been 14.2 million. To be exact, the program has so far grown by 444,574 fewer recipients during Obama’s time in office than during Bush’s.

Other GOP candidates have made claims that African-Americans (or “blah” people) are the majority on public assistance in the United States. That’s also not true.

36 percent of those receiving food stamps are white, 22 percent were African American and 10 percent were Latino, according to the most recent Department of Agriculture report on the general characteristics of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program or “food stamp” program.

Obama has no legal authority to do so. Some one really needs to convince him that he is not the king. People need to see the arrogance under this mans surface. Quit looking at the color of his skin and this very sweet pleasant demeanor and calling everybody a racist who does not agree with him because he is sweet and pleasant and tells you everything you want to hear. Remember we are all the same color underneath and Obama really sucks under that. It is the states who are left to determine the work requirement or not. Not a king!

Obama is pushing Social Justice/Reform. He is trying to get rid of the middle class and get as many people on food stamps and welfare as he can. There are over 100 million Americans on government welfare, that is 1/3 of the population.

So go ahead and re-elect Obama, you have not seen nothing yet what the puppet is pushing for those over him for the agenda for this country.

In 2005, then Governor Romney , along with several other governors, asked that states have more say so in allocation of federal funding of welfare . They wanted to be able to decide if welfare-to-work in their state was the best course of action or if there should be modifications/revisions that would be more appropriate for their state. ( Clinton 's '96 Welfare Reform)

Guess who agrees with them? President Obama !! Oh, yes ! That is precisely what is happening. Guess who is trying to make it look like the President is willing to hand out welfare checks to anyone not willing to work? That's right... the same Romney who asked for state control in 2005 and which the President now agrees !!
