I agree only because the alternative is rather rude. I have nothing in common with the Republican Party whose platform seems to be against everything that I am for. They was to stop abortion but let the birthed baby live in a slum without food stamps or a good education. They intrude in the private lives of people and claim they want less government involvement in their lives. They for the most part were gung ho for the invasion of Iraq and dragged many Democrats along with them for fear they would seem unpatriotic. They sell their soul to corporate wealth and do their bidding once elected. The Democrats are not all pure there either but without them we would become EVEN MORE of an Oligarchy. Democrats have more working class people, more educated middle class and more of the intellectual types. They are party members because of their beliefs and many came from conservative Republican families.

They won't risk angering the religious right- who will never cease to blabber about moral relativism.

The religious right are not real conservatives nor ones who truly espouse liberty and freedom. They want control. Over you and what you do and how you think. Sound familiar?

Though I am an old fat white man, I just can't figure out why other old fat white men think:

    1. GDP contracted -6.4% is good instead of growing for 11 straight quarters.

    2. Jobs being lost at the rate of -741,000/month is good instead of 3.6 million net new jobs created in the economy over the past 2 1/2 years.

    3. 19 banks, an insurance company and two automakers socialized is good instead of an insurance company and one automaker socialized.

    4. Insurance companies putting lifetime limits on healthcare insurance premium payers or denying coverage to people with preexisting conditions who want to be insurance premium payers is good instead of US corporations providing the product they sell.

    5. 3,000 Americans slaughtered on U.S. soil, 150,000 troops occupying the Baathist al Qaeda enemy state of Iraq, and Osama bin Laden liviing in Abottabad mansion mounting his 4 wife herem for 10 years is good, instead of 0 troops in an al Qaeda enemy state and Osama bin Laden dead.

    6. Annual suprluses of $172 billion (2001) going to annual deficits of -$1.6 trillion (2009) is good instead of annual deficits of -$1.6 trillion (2009) going down to -$1.26 trillion (2010) and down to $1.10 trillion (2011). . . while John Boehner keeps the Bush tax cuts from 2001 extended for the top brackets. ...

Ahhhh. . . I am beginning to see, now, why other fat old white men think like this. . . Why the hell don't more Hispanics, Asians, African/Americas or native Americans think like this, damnit?

And NO,.... they're caught in a whirlpool going down the toilet. Younger, more educated voters think they're like old Nazi's that took over the party..... which is pretty accurate in my opinion!!! LOL!

That the problem with grouping people together, and right-wing may not be conservative at all , you would probably consider George Bush conservative which he was not. Tea-party is not one single group and is a symbol of individualism

They despise the poor because they're poor, they're homophobic, racist corporate lapdogs, and they preach from the political pulpit. What's progressive about that? Not a damn thing.

The TEA Party is mostly working class persons of all ethnic groups. The Independents are definitely not old, white and fat men. You discriminated against all women with this question. You left out the few black and highspanics that will either not vote or vote for the Republicans this election. Be careful now. Guess you have to see what happens on November 6th ?

  • Waldorf America... 2012/07/22 00:26:13

You are certainly bigoted in terms of Republicans. "Fat" is a euphemism for wealthy. "Old" means the party needs to appeal to youth. "White" means the antithesis of the multicultural Democrats. In summary, the strategist simply wants more of the Democratic profile to become Republicans. Well duh, that's kind of his job, but it ain't gonna happen except on the basis of appeal to those who want to live by a set of principles, not just whatever feels good at the time. As far as wealth, there are vastly more Republicans who are not wealthy than those who are. Meanwhile, some of the wealthiest people in Congress are Democrats, even Far Left.
