GOP Newsletter In Virginia Advocates For Armed Rebellion If The American People Re-Elect President Obama

OK this is starting to get scary. We've all been amused by the leaps of illogic and deliberate lies the Right Wing has been pumping out to attack the President of the United States for the past three years. As the economy improves, they either deny that the economy is improving or try to take credit for it. As our foreign standing continues to improve, they pretend we're still in the world of "freedom fries" or "my way or the highway". As the assault on the rights of women, minorities, homosexuals and non-Christians continue, they deny any complicity. And there are still birthers out there. Of course, any time you ask for an example of how "Obama is taking our rights away" they fall silent; any time you ask for an example of "communism taking over" they run away.

But now it's not funny. When representatives of what is supposed to be a political party actively advocate for the violent overthrow of the United States government this goes way beyond right wing fearmongering. This goes far past the nightly flood of lies and distortions of the Fox Propaganda Network. This is a threat to the security of the United States of America, and it cannot go unnoticed.

We saw in 2000 how the Right Wing's desperation to gain control of this nation resulted in the most corrupt Supreme Court ruling in American history. We saw in 2004 how that desperation led to widespread voter fraud committed by the company supplying electronic voting machines whose CEO "guaranteed" a Republican victory. In 2008 even Right Wing trickery couldn't overcome the overwhelming will of the American people (especially once John McCain was forced to accept a running mate that makes housecats seem qualified for high office by comparison), but now the Right has pulled out all the stops. And even that isn't enough. With voter suppression bills pending in a dozen states and voter intimidation running rampant in many states (not ONLY Arizona), the Right is so petrified that the American people will not fall for their tricks again that now they have a backup plan - violence!

If there are still any Republicans out there who have any respect for this nation, I call upon each and every one of them to denounce this cancer in their own party. Losing an election might be a disappointment, but losing a nation is unforgivable.

GOP Newsletter In Virginia Advocates For Armed Rebellion If The American People Re-Elect President Obama
May 8, 2012
By Stephen D. Foster Jr.

The Republican Party seems to already be sensing that they will be miserably defeated on Election Day this November. So as a back-up plan, a Republican newsletter in Virginia is openly calling for violently overthrowing the duly elected government of the United States should Democrats still be in charge.

The newsletter, known as “The Constitutional Conservatives” was published in March by the Greene County, Virginia Republican Committee and it included a column titled “Whitehouse Watchdog” written by editor Ponch McPhee. In the column, Mcphee trashed President Obama and said that if the American people fail to elect a Republican government, conservatives should arm themselves and take back the government by force. Here’s the text via Right Wing Watch.

“We have before us a challenge to remove an ideologue unlike anything world history has ever witnessed or recognized. An individual who has come to power within a Nation which yields it’s strength over the entire world. An elected leader who shuns biblical praise, handicaps economic ability, disrespects the honor of earned military might. In the coming days and weeks ~ we the people must come to grasp as a common force, our very soul’s, that our future as a sovereign nation is indeed at risk. If every single individual that you know, would contact 25 other individuals ~ we can make a difference that will be heard across the Commonwealth and in Washington. The ultimate task for the people is to remain vigilant and aware ~ that the government, their government is out of control, and this moment, this opportunity, must not be forsaken, must not escape us, for we shall not have any coarse but armed revolution should we fail with the power of the vote in November ~ This Republic cannot survive for 4 more years underneath this political socialist ideologue.”

This isn’t the first time that Republicans have threatened armed rebellion if they lose a legal election. Back in 2010 Nevada Senate candidate Sharon Angle suggested “second amendment remedies” if the election didn’t go well for the GOP. And then there’s Texas GOP congressional candidate Stephen Broden. He stated that armed insurrection was “on the table” if voters didn’t elect Republicans in 2010. During that election year, Republicans basically held the American electorate hostage by threatening death and violence if the election didn’t go the way Republicans wanted it to.

And that leads us to this newest call for a violent overthrow if election results are not in the Republican’s favor. Once again, Republicans want to use “second amendment remedies” to bring President Obama and the Democratic Party down if the American people fail to give power back to the GOP in November. The Greene County Republican Party didn’t necessarily condemn this either. They merely included a disclaimer in the newsletter stating that the viewpoints expressed are individual in nature and may not represent the views of the entire party. But that’s a bunch of bologna. If the Greene County Republican Party really don’t endorse these views, they wouldn’t have allowed them to be published at all. But they did, and now Americans have once again been threatened with violence if they don’t vote Republican in the 2012 Election. Do we really want to elect a party that openly threatens the nation with violence and bloodshed if they lose a constitutionally mandated legal election? Such a threat after all is treason. I think Americans should call their bluff and elect Democrats in a clean sweep this November just so we can watch the Republicans throw a temper tantrum and retreat like the cowards they are.

I am truly ashamed at some of the GOP knuckle draggers in our Commonwealth of Virginia. To suggest this is beyond sore losing and is treasonous, but the source sounds ignorant like many Republicans.

Well, Thank God we have a Democracy that's votes our President in. These whinny b$tch GOPs are just going to have to deal with whoever gets elected, like we had to deal with "Bush brains" getting a second term and starting this whole fiasco.

Right now it's the "Thinking Man's" time, not ignorant closed minded bigoted evangelicals. Those nuts will just take us back to Puritan times.

Okay...everybody. Reading for today is "The Crucible", by Arthur Miller. It's an easy read. Go ahead, see where we can end up. You cn find it in DVD format if you are too lazy to read...it's up to you.

I have to say, I find this hard to believe. Not that there are Republicans out there who feel this way, but that this "newsletter" is an official publication of any mainstream Republican organ.

Look at all the misspellings, faulty punctuation and abysmal grammar. It certainly appears to me that it's nothing more than a rant, not an official position of any significant group of Republicans.

Is the "Greene County, Virginia Republican Committee" recognized as part of the Republican Party? I can't find them listed as being a party affiliate.
