OK...then what did the Democratic Congress do for nine months in a disastrously failing economy? Most women are capable of producing much more in nine months than they did.

... and how many spending bills fostered those filibusters? ....spending bills which would have been even more waste of our money.

Obama had ordered the fairy dust , it was late in coming. you think 8 years of destruction and out of control spending is fixed in one or two years . ? amazingly stupid for a intelligent man to say such things

I may say some stupid things sometimes, but my comment on this issue is not one of them. Any Freshman taking Economics 101 and any highschool student interested in the economic history of the U.S. and the free market could have done a better job at stablizing the economy. Obama was clueless and surrounded himself with some clueless people.

I do not believe, like many, that Obama is intentionally trying to destroy this country. However, due to his lack of economic conversance and having surrounded himself with advisers, who advocate Keynesian economics (which look wonderful on paper, but have never worked ever in the history of all civilizations), the results of those policies leading to economic disaster are evident.

When your piggy bank is empty, you cannot fill it with a credit card and expect a resolution. That policy will come back to bite you later. There are no institutions out there that can solve federal credit card debt. His policies are leading us to economic disaster; and too many Americans are supporting him like lemurs running headlong over a cliff. If, opposing those spending policies and advocating federal fiscal responsibility sounds like a Tea Party concept, then so be it.

Anyone, Democratic or Republican, who objects to those spending policies, by whatever means, including filibusterer, are patriots trying to save this country from economic ruin....so my kudos to the Tea Party.

the tea part advocates less spending then goes on to advocate tax cuts for the wealthy that is deficit spending in it's self. Do they think it's all a free ride . Tax cuts for the wealthy are a great part of the problem

A free ride?? The majority of government revenue comes from the payroll tax. Who employs? It certainly is not the 50% of Americans who pay no tax; and it is about time that they paid their FAIR SHARE. I have never received a pay check from someone who was not wealthy. Tax them higher.. it will reduce the federal debt nada, but will reduce the number of those employed who do pay into a corrupt system that wastes our tax dollars

certainly not from the church that pays no tax . that is unconstitutional. the church needs to become a tax payer. If you want more people to pay taxes , deman a higher min. wage ,,that would help the economy and the poor who are under paid

All religious, charitable, and non-profit organizations have been exempt from paying taxes since the inception of the United States. Without that exemption, I'd hate to see what would happen to the poor then.

The raising of the minimum wage only leads to higher prices for products or to less people employed. All cost increases to businesses are past down to the consumer. ..Economics 101. What keeps prices down in a free market is the relation between supply and demand and competition. One of the reasons, for instance, that health care costs are so high is that the government does not allow insurance companies to compete across state lines, which is a violation of the commerce clause.

The poor wouldn't miss the lectures or the down the nose look . I have looked and looked and nowhere in the constitution do we have to support the church of any kind . Why they don't pay taxes they can well a ford is any-body's guess If you don't support raising the min. wage , how can you complain the under paid don't pay taxes . I suppose you can justify it in a tea party logic. It will in reality give people more disposable income creating a demand and eventually a lower unemployment rate . Why you and you're pals fight to stop the economy stagnant is a mystery . If health care were to compete across state lines it would be a economic disaster . The insurance companies have proven track record of dirty dealings and corruption.

Thank you for being relatively objective. However, the problem concerning our deplorable economic situation goes back farther than Bush with both Republican and Democratic administrations.

The real culprit, if you wish to place blame, is on the American voters, who failed in their job to be watchdog over their government.

Now that's funny. My Church prepares dinner every Saturday at 6pm for the hungry of our city. All who come eat. There is a meal prepared everyday of the week by churches here in Tucson. I'm Catholic but will give the Baptist their dues. They give food boxes to anyone with an I.D. Now there are some churches who only watch over their own but most help all people.

Don't waste your words. "Tea for Two" is a left wing plant and will bait you at any chance he gets. Just do not respond to him. It "ain't" worth the effort.

If your argument is valid and contrary to his emotional rants, he will then start name calling.

He enjoys eliciting anger from respondents; and he knows how to do it. He probably belongs in a mental institution.

OK. I guess you missed that I am not a fan of Catholics? No doubt, there is tons of wrongs with the Catholic church. That is why I don't know why anyone goes to the church, gives money to they church, believes in the Catholic church...anything! That church has turned more away from god than it has brought in over it's entire existence!!

....mostly temporary (most jobs are)or government jobs and losing more than 300,000 jobs a month. Actual unemployment is 17-20%.

The government does not produce jobs. All government jobs are tax-payer supported and contribute very little to the economy. It is the private sector that creates real jobs and increases government revenue through the payroll tax. The Obama administration mandated strangulating regulations on businesses and engendered such a business climate of doubt (e.g. Health Care) that business were, and to some degree, still are reluctant to hire.
