Casey Anthony's Lawyers Appeal Her Probation: That's Their Right or Immoral to Fight?

Casey Anthony is already regarded as one of the most hated people in America for avoiding charges of murdering her 2-year-old daughter Caylee -- and now her lawyers are trying to get her out of probation, too.

According to CBS News, Anthony's attorneys are attempting to appeal Judge Belvin Perry's ruling that she arrive at the Orlando-based Department of Corrections facility no later than August 26.

This is after she already refused to return for a date set earlier in the month.

The hold up has to do with the jail time Anthony was serving while her infamous trial was underway. Because she was sentenced to a year of probation in January of last year, and has spent most of her time since then locked up, her attorneys argue she has already served her time, and should not need to serve any additional probation.

Judge Stan Strickland, who ordered Anthony's probation, did reportedly specify she can only start serving the probation sentence after her trial is over, meaning she should not be allowed to count her existing jail time toward the sentence.

However, he apparently never put it in writing.

Judge Perry maintains, "It is clear the court stated the defendant's probation was to start once she was released from jail. [Letting her go now] would take a lawfully imposed sentence and make it a mockery of justice. This would allow a defendant to take advantage of a clerical error and be rewarded. This is not the message the courts want to send to the public or defendants."

Maybe Judge Strickland suspected Anthony would be set free in her lifetime. We certainly didn't.

Charming, courageous Casey Anthony has endured enough persecution from fumbling, bumbling, stumbling, incompetent prosecutors and vindictive judges in Orange County, Florida. It's time to stop the media circus, and Free Casey Anthony.

You're right Lars, she's a charmer alright. Why don't you give her your checks and credit cards and let her charm you out of some $$ Oh, wait... she would rather steal them from you, and use them without you knowing. Also, if you have a little child, make sure Casey isn't your "babysitter" nevermind, she uses Zanny, the famous nanny.

Casey got off from a murder conviction because the jury was in a hurry to get home. She should have been found guilty on second degree murder. She is the mother, and had the moral an legal obligation to protect and nurture her child. She disposed of that baby and got away with it. she should serve her probation and be thankful that's all she got.

No, jerk off. Because they never looked at one piece of evidence and had over 400 to look at. Only spent enough time to use rest room and run for the buses. They thought George was involved because Baez lied the first day. They weren't smart enough to realize he couldn't repeat his horrid lies in closing.

It's not only their right, it's their duty! An attorney is the agent of their client. They have no personal identity except as the skillful representative of their client's will. And all of us should be glad for it, since most Americans can be jailed at will. Remember the woman convicted of vehicular homicide because she was jay walking when a hit and run driver killed her son . . .

Besides, there's a whole lot less evidence that Casey Anthony murdered her daughter, than there is that Patsy Ramsey murdered hers. Casey spent three years in jail, and went through a trial, while Patsy Ramsey met with police by appointment, and according to her stipulations. The difference, media coverage . . . The media told us that we hated Casey, and that we don't want her to prosper. They didn't tell us that about Patsy Ramsey.

But WHAT did they write about the Ramsey case? They wrote about the mystery of this beautiful child's death, but they didn't demonize her mother. Even though, in the Ramsey case there was an exploitative mother, and there was evidence of repeated penetration of JonBenet's vagina, described by one expert as "chronic physical abuse." Nevertheless, the family was protected by the media and the hierarchy of law enforcement. Meanwhile, Caylee, who showed no evidence of abuse, and who was described by everyone as having a uniquely good relationship with her mother, was thought to be a murder victim, and her mother was pegged by media as the culprit.

In my opinion, JonBenet was killed by her mother when the ritualistic abuse of penatrating her vagina with objects, got out of hand, resulting in an injury inflicted by her mother, who then then killed her to avoid prosecution for inflicting the injury. I believe that Patsy Ramsey abused her daughter as a response to sexual abuse that she endured as a child, using her daughter as an emotional substitute upon whom she projected a condition that was intolerable for her.

JonBenet may have provided the consummate description of a child's view of maternal abuse when she asked the gardener, "do roses know that their thorns hurt?"

    As for Caylee...

As for Caylee, I believe her death was accidental, due to drugging by her mother, to facilitate her social activity. However, since Casey was responsible for 24/7 care taking, I think her parents share some of the blame.

She should have thought of the grave danger her daughter was in for the amount of time it took her to call the police to report a missing child but we all know she didn't ....she was to busy getting tattoos and partying, even renting movies with her boyfriend, enough about her being in danger, she brought this on herself!

The "law" says she was not guilty that does NOT mean she's INNOCENT of killing her daughter.IMO, you would defend her no matter what the verdict was.
and as far as the media is concerned they did not change the FACTS of this case.

Oh and my comment stating you are on "dangerous grounds here" simply means your opinion is so much in the minority, yet you come here and defend this sociopath and really don't mind being ridiculed for your opinion.
  • Ric5811 jujunme 2012/02/10 21:16:18
    Ric5811
Actually you fail to understand legal reasoning, as I have posted before, you are innocent until proven guilty, if you are not found guilty, you are still innocent. Jury instructions are not, guilty, innocent and not guilty.

I am not defending the "sociopath" I am defending the justice system. I don't mind being in the minority, the Founders were in the minority, civil rights movement was in the minority. If everyone was afraid to stand up for their ideals against the mob, we would have a sad world.
