ALL 50 States have now gathered 675K Signatures to Secede From the Us....These Signatures will Then be presented to their State Governor, who will present before their State Congress for Approval or Denial...If Approved, then the Governor presents to The US Congress for Approval....

Louisiana Leads a Wave Of Petitions To Secede From The USA....

We Petition the Obama Administration to:
Peacefully grant the State of Louisiana to withdraw from the United States of America and create its own NEW government.
As the founding fathers of the United States of America made clear in the Declaration of Independence in 1776:

"When in the Course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the Laws of Nature and of Nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation."

"...Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or abolish it, and institute new Government..."

The Texas petition reads as follows:

The US continues to suffer economic difficulties stemming from the federal government’s neglect to reform domestic and foreign spending. The citizens of the US suffer from blatant abuses of their rights such as the NDAA, the TSA, etc. Given that the state of Texas maintains a balanced budget and is the 15th largest economy in the world, it is practically feasible for Texas to withdraw from the union, and to do so would protect it’s citizens’ standard of living and re-secure their rights and liberties in accordance with the original ideas and beliefs of our founding fathers which are no longer being reflected by the federal government.

    Any member of Congress who voted in favor of secession would be out of office in the next election. It won't get that far, because Obama will turn all of them down. We really have more serious issues to deal with.

    Texas defeat Mexico and became a Republic was on it own. According to the founding fathers No Country Can ever become a state. It economy is the 15th largest GPD in the world. You miss Us a lot more than we miss you. We had and can have our own currency again It would be worth more than your Fed. notes. Screw your sports teams who cares. It took a whopping 20 min's to defeat the mexican army. Like the 13 colonies spill blood to defeat England. Were over 25 million people I think we do just fine. We don't rob our citizens with a state tax as bad as the last democrat Richardson wanted so much. We removed that trash never looked back. But as any sane man can see there more to do.

    They need us a lot more than we need them.Texas is a growing state and we got a lot of room. Look at New York what happen to those people its old and crumble under the stress of a cat one. House not safe and the people aren't getting help from the democrats. They can never bring up New Alwin's again. It's a shame the way there being screwed over. You can't vote in the same jerks and expect different results. But lets see what happens trade & tariffs sounds like a good start.

    This state will soon become purple, with all the new Latino voters, and then it will turn blue. How do you feel about that?

    For my lifetime, perhaps, but maybe not for yours, since I am older than you are. Political scientists expect Arizona to turn blue in a couple of electoral cycles, as New Mexico already has. California used to be red, as did Nevada. It looks like we are next.

    It is kind of nice over here in the land of enlightenment. No one hates anyone, and we believe we are all in this together. There is always room for more.

    We will all be fine. There is bitterness over the election, but eventually we will all accept the results and move on.

    Democrats would control the White House and both houses of Congress were it not for the gerrymandering of congressional districts by Republican legislatures. This was seen by the total votes for House seats, which favored the Dems by more than 400,000 votes. As legislatures become more Democratic, this too will change.

    Unless the GOP becomes more in tune with demographic changes in this country, they will become an irrelevant party.

    All budgets are originated in the House. The president can propose a budget, but the House can ignore it if they wish. All money bills begin in the House.

    For the last two years, while the Republicans have been in control, the House has repeatedly passed the Ryan budget, which they know is a non-starter in the Senate and with the president. It calls for slashing funding for safety-net programs needed by many poor people, turning Medicare into a voucher system run by the insurance companies, and giving the super-wealthy another juicy tax cut, down to 25%.

    Why do they insist on wasting everyone's time with a budget that is unacceptable to more than 60% of the American people?

    The courts will continue to block voter ID laws as discriminatory.

    While you are complaining, send a bit of it to the House of Representatives, which continues to pass the Ryan budget despite knowing it is a non-starter with the Senate and the president with its call for a new round of tax cuts for the top 1% down to 25%.

    Ask them why they insist on wasting everyone's time with a budget that is opposed by more than 60% of the American people. Ryan is still chairman of the House banking committee, so they will probably continue wasting our time.

    I guess you haven't noticed that the courts are striking down all of the voter ID laws. They are illegal, and the Republican legislatures are wasting everyone's time.

    The only reason the GOP held onto control of the House was because of the gerrymandering by Republican legislatures (Democratic candidates received 400,000 more votes than Republicans did). As the states turn increasingly blue, the congressional districts will be put back to normal, and then the Democrats will control the White House and both houses of Congress for the foreseeable future.

    The GOP is out of tune with the American people, and they don't seem to know what demographics are. Until they rid themselves of the teabaggers, they will never win another national election.

    We are talking about citizens with the right to vote, and their numbers will increase. Every time they hold a swearing-in ceremony for new citizens in Dallas County, the numbers are overwhelmingly Latino, with Asians coming in second.

    Not going to happen. The number of names on the petitions represents a tiny percentage of the population of this state. If it ever came up for a vote, it would be soundly defeated.
