I most boys/men take some particular qualities from each parent ~ warmth, nurturing and the like from their mother, and the masculine traits from their father..

Yes/no both? I think when they are younger, they may look up to their fathers, but typically rely on their mothers, as they become older, they imitate their fathers more.

I think they have traits of both parents. I think boys are born loving the female sex, so during the early years I think they appear more attached to mom.

i think they take after thier dads because they r the same gender and r more athletic, so they r able to help thier sons burn of thier energy.

I take after my mother but then I only met my dad maybe 3 times and that was when I was in single digits of age.

I think they take after their fathers in terms of aggression/no aggression, but probably after their mothers in most other areas. Depends a lot on which parent is the more assertive and the one the boy bonds with. Most babies bond with their mothers first and most, because they are the primary care-givers from birth. In the case of my son, because of circumstances, I was his primary care-giver (a bottle baby, obviously) for the first couple of months and he bonded very strongly with me. He is 24 now and we still have a very close relationship!

    Hmmmm... Not a yes/no question....

I take after my dad, but in most cases I would probably say it would depend upon who the boy was closest to?

Both, most kids I see and most adults I know have a little of both. One personality is generally stronger, so perhaps whichever has the more dominant personality.

The poll question is confusing. Are you asking if they take after their parents - or if they usually take after their mom as opposed to their dad??? Anyway, I found that most of the guys that I know, including my husband & son, take after their fathers to a larger degree than their mom.

Most boys like to act like their fathers but in their heart they are attached and listen more to their mom's. Only in later life do you realize just how much smarter your father was than you thought. Being a cowboy most of his life he said very little but you listened to what he said when he said something. Most of his guidence was after the fact. I tended to not listen but now I know he was a much wiser man than I will ever be.

It depends on the boy as much as it depends on the mother and father.

Good question. You would think that gender would play a role but I'm kind of a fiesty guy, more like my mother.
