Chick-Fil-A Fast
Food Chain Donated Nearly $2 Million To Family Values Groups
. Want a side order
of solid Christian American values with your chicken sandwich? Chik-Fil-A might
be able to help you with that. According to
EqualityMatters.org, the fast food company donated nearly $2 million in 2009 to
groups that have laudible family values. IRS 990 forms
show that WinShape, the restaurant chain's charitable foundation which was
founded by Chick-Fil-A's chairman S. Truett Cathy in 1994, gave to the
following groups in 2009:

Marriage &
Family Legacy Fund: $994,199

Fellowship Of
Christian Athletes: $480,000

National
Christian Foundation: $240,000

Focus On The
Family: $12,500

Eagle Forum:
$5,000

Exodus
International: $1,000

Family Research
Council: $1,000

An earlier
investigation by Equality Matters found that Chick-Fil-A, which was recently
voted the third most beloved restaurant chain in the United States, donated
more than $1 million to family values groups between 2003 and 2008. The IRS
forms from 2009 are the most recent available as public records. In January
Chick-Fil-A president Dan Cathy defended the chain saying, "We're not
anti-anybody... Our mission is to create raving fans." Cathy also responded
to gay activists' claims after the company provided lunch at a
marriage-training event sponsored by Pennsylvania Family Institute. Cathy asserted,
"While my family and I believe in the Biblical definition of marriage, we
love and respect anyone who disagrees." In recent months
students attending at least six universities, including University of North
Texas, Mississippi State University, and the University of New Orleans, have
launched petitions asking their schools not to support family value businesses
like Chick-Fil-A. LGBT activists
have also staged protests at a number of the chain's locations throughout the
country, including Chicago and Hollywood.

I for one applaud the stance of this franchise on supporting
family values, that which has aided in making this country great. What do you
think?

I don't hate them, but I will not eat there. While I fully appreciate and respect the chain's views, it is MY choice NOT to provide any of my hard earned money to them. Everyone has choices and my choice is to spend my money elsewhere. I happen to be in a same-sex relationship, long term, and we have raised or are still raising 9 kids. We are foster parents as well. The children we raise have open minds, good morals and are all successful and positive influences on our society. The fact that they have two moms is completely irrelevant. I would gladly match my kids up to any other family's kids.

I don't really hate them, but they support prejudice and that is not an American family value, it is a value of religious bigots.

They donated to no hate groups. Your comparison to WBC is grossly inappropriate and ignorant. But I have a feeling you don't care about accuracy.

For someone who preaches accuracy, you sure didn't do your research. Chick-fil-A has donated $5 million to various organizations, one which is a certified hate group (Family Research Counsel).

Egg on the face, egg on the face.

Certified hate group? Like planned parenthood? And who certifies them? Is there a government panel that does this? Not even close. I'm still accurate, they've not donated to one hate group. Looks like you have.

I even gave you the freaking name of the group. They are linked to pushing false accusations against the homosexual community, which has earned the term "hate group."

You are an incompetent idiot. Here's why: I don't ever have to worry about getting pregnant because a) I don't sleep around and b) I don't sleep with men. CONGRATULATIONS! Maybe you should stop giving head and start using it?

You don't get to cry and pull the victim card--you replied to my post. YOU chose to engage in conversation. Secondly, you chose to act like an arrogant jerk when faced with facts; therefore, I treated you as such.

Lastly, you will refer to me properly. The confusion is not on my end but yours. I know who I am better than anyone else. I ended that confusion when I corrected you. Either get it right, or hit the highway. Continuing to act like a dick doesn't make yours any bigger.

lol. I love how no one even explains what these so called "Family Value" Companies actually do and stand for! These Campaigns prevent Same Sex Marriage and Same Sex Couple Adoption. Okay, I know all you bigots know that! But guess what else they do!? They also prevent Anti-Bullying programs in schools for LGBT Students. So you all support BULLYING!? And the worse of all, they support STRAIGHT CAMPS! These camps abuse and torture LGBT people until they are "Converted" to being Straight. Also, parents are allowed to send their Kids and Teens to these camps WITHOUT the consent of the child! So, you actually believe that HUMAN BEINGS deserve to be treated like THAT!?
