I think the fact that it's illegal makes it kinda... interesting to try, since it's "forbidden". But still, I don't think anything is gonna change. :/

Yes. Everyone says but you will do something illegal or ruin your family. If you do drive while under the influence its a crime and gets punished like all the other crimes, your body your decision you know what can happen, why the majority can't see that is beyond me.

Or atleast I think so. There will still be plenty of things to go to jail for even if they were.

If nothing else, it would remove crime from the equasion, and the criminal justice system could prosecute real criminals. If drugs were legal, the prices would fall, so people with "issues" could still afford to buy what they need without resorting to crime. We could tax them, thus additional income for our country. The new "designer" drugs that are created to skate around laws seem to be worse than the drugs they were replacing. There would potentially be some oversight in manufacture, thus ending the dangerous home labs that pollute communities and occasionally explode... It would also destroy the drug cartels in our neghbors to the south, allowing them to have a semblance of peace.

How about under adult supervision from 14 - 16, including alcohol too, this my spot 'problem sorts' before they cause serious harm. Our laissez-faire system of Non-Intervention UNTIL something tragic actually happens is destroying us.

We're fighting a losing war on drugs and it's cost us billions, legalizing and taxing drugs is the smart thing to do. It will ruin drug cartels, gangs will have no drug territory to fight over, there will be lots of money to have drug intervention and prevention. Anyone who wants drugs now can get them and I don't think legalization will make Americans go crazy and start doing drugs because they can, we're not that stupid.

It is hypocritical to have the two most addictive substances legal(nicotine and alcohol) while all the others are illegal. I have no interest in partaking, but, I would still much rather see them legalized and taxed rather the continually watch tax money wasted on a completely unwinable "war on drugs."

    Legal drugs.

    Cheap drugs.

    Strong drugs.

Drug abusers will kill themselves more quickly, and be less of a drain on society.

Bloated public sector payrolls will be able to be shrunk.

Normal people will again be able to get an allergy or headache pill that actually works.

In countries where drugs are legal, less people do them. Could work in America too. Who knows. If not, more druggies will die, less will be here living.

But regulated to the amount of harm each category inflicts on orderly society.
clandestine concoctions would be out-lawwed, lab quality in supervised surroundings.

No, no and no. Maybe something like marijuana could be made legal but restricted. I don't have a problem with that. But I can't even imagine what the world would be like should most governments condone dangerous substances like heroin or cocaine.

I don't think it would be necesarily condoning drug use, just legalizing it. That way we could 1] tax them and 2]free up the money we use fighting this losing battle to do something worth while. [Does prohibition ring any bells?]
