Do you think that overly skinny models make the wrong impression to young girls/boys?

Most girls don't want to be/are not that skinny, and most boys don't like women that skinny.

    No!!

no, young girls/boys are wise enough to notice that overly skinny models do not operate in a natural setting

Yes, they do. I have a friend who is just naturally very thin. She's healthy though. That's her "normal". And sometimes people call her anorexic and it genuinly bothers her because she's not, she is healthy, she just has a different body shape than what is average.

Haha same! I'm not model thin but I'm pretty slim and I don't even know how! Like I eat and don't do much exercise :s I give myself another 4 or 5 years before my metabolism craps out and I'll actually have to start working out :/

No :/ but I guess we have it easier since most people have to work for their bodies from the start, right?

I was just responding to you saying that those bodies don't occur in nature. It's just not nice to say because many girls are, in fact, that thin and they wouldn't like being called unnatural.

aaah I see. what I meant to say is that these models operate in fashion shows which is an artificial environment, and I hope that girls and boys are able to see that, such that they are not influenced by them. I didnt mean to say that girls or boys who are that thin are not natural.

Honestly, everyone I talk to does not find those girls attractive! Most girls say they're too skinny and guys just seem disturbed. So I'm wondering where all this "models contribute to bad self esteem" crap is coming from. In my opinion, you should accept the way you look (as long as it's healthy). Some people are just naturally very thin. I hate when people say that real women have curves. Just because you're not curvy doesn't make you any less of a woman. We all have differently shaped bodies and that's fine. We should be happy with ourselves and not go overboard trying to change it, unless you know, you have an eating disorder or something.
