- GUADALAJARA, Mexico (AP)—The 2015 Pan American Games are going to Toronto.
The Pan American Sports Organization awarded the games in a secret vote on Friday with Toronto receiving 33 votes to win on the first ballot. Lima, Peru, received 11 votes and Bogota seven. One vote of the 52 was null.

Now, here's hoping that we create SOME sort of infrastructure legacy from this event. BMO Field, from the U-20 FIFA (soccer) World Cup a few years ago was made too small - should have been 30K seats, not 20K. In Canada we always do this sort of thing on the cheap, rather than taking a long-term view to them.
How about a good high-level swimming pool? Does Toronto have one? How about a good 10K stadium that can be used for university football?
Canada would get its ass whooped!
