The Door to Hell, as locals call it, is situated near the small town of Darvaz in Turkmenistan. Thirty-five years ago, geologists were drilling for gas when then encountered a very large cavern underground filled with a poisonous gas. They ignited the gas expecting it to burn off in a few hours. Thirty-five years later, the gas is still burning. The Catholic Church believes this is the entrance to hell. This is where the condemned souls go...

Are you kidding me. My mother opened the doors of hell for me 54 years ago when I was born. I've been consumed by the flames ever since and it doesn't seem like they will be letting up any time soon! Can't wait for God to open up the doors of heaven so I can make a run for eternal life. I can't believe mom didn't take me there with her in the first place!!

Hmm, I'm catholic and I agree that that is a very stupid conclusion.

But man, I think lava is just so pretty. I love the coloring, and it looks fun to play with. Well aside from the burning alive part.
