Obama Denounces Christianity As Our Nation's Religion: Are You Proud Or Upset?

socallocal April 06, 2009 19:02:49

President Barack Obama told Turkish news reporters that America isn't a nation based under one religion. Although Christians make up the majority of religious followers in the United States, Barack Obama claimed that America is not a "Christian nation". Barack Obama went on to state that America is "...a nation of citizens who are bound by ideals and a set of values". Are you proud that President Barack Obama is keeping the U.S. free of religious identity or does this upset you?
I'm proud that Barack Obama doesn't claim a national religion

I'm upset that Barack Obama denies a standard U.S. religion

In 1952 President Truman established one day a year as a National Day of Prayer. In 1988, President Reagan designated the first Thursday in May of each year as the National Day of Prayer. This year however, President Obama, decided to cancel the ceremo......ny at the White House not wanting to offend anyone. President Barack Obama declared the USA was no longer a Christian
    nation.

Now see if you can wrap your brain around this: On September
25, 2009 from 4am until 7pm, a National Day of Prayer for the Muslim
religion will be held on Capitol Hill, beside the White House. They are
expecting over 50,000 muslims that day in DC. The
website (yes, there is a very informative website) is:
www.islamoncapitolhill.com Pay particular attention to the very bottom
of the page: "OUR TIME HAS COME". Could it be that the REAL agenda of
the President is becoming more plain? The evidence is there.Read MoreISLAM ON Capitol hill

Barack Obama's claim that the U.S. is not a Christian nation...

The point has always been that from this nation's beginning there has been a vast number of Christians. So much of the Constituion has the Bible's wisdom etched in it throughout.
The major Principals are there. The idea of as our government thinks of it today that we must supress Christianity in the public arena is a falsehood and wrongfully inerpreted
Notice that it is Ok to quote Koran, Confussionism and several dozens of foolishness in place of the Holy Bible's words. It's like carving an idol, and making believe he has any words to say. The idol has no power what so ever. People will be slaughtered to appease such monstrasities . Out side the substance they are made of they mean nothing in reality. Obama is a fool because he is a Marxist and has no God

Barack Obama's claim that the U.S. is not a Christian nation...

Really doesn't mean much to me at all.

I see it as a rejection of theocracy rather than Christianity like some say. Then again, I'm a believer of severe separation of church and state so I was pretty predictable on this one.

He has spoken against America and has apologized to Egypt and Europe about Americans being irriagant. Power corrupts us all. He has announced this also as a muslim nation. This country for is for those who chose to enter legally. This nation has helped more then its share of nations in being able to get democrasy started in other nations. Until Iran announces it has another shed to produce nuclear weapons in.
He also has given a dictator U.S dollars to put in their charity of choice which happens to also support terrorism. This man's name happens to be kadafi.

we are not officially a christian nation and if we where what version would we be?
    (joke answer: version 2.0)
so when he says "we are not a christian nation" he is only stating the facts cause we don't have national religion or a national language. But we do have majorities like the majority of americans speak english and a majority are christians but that doesnt make it the national religion or language. (im tired someone finish i thought for me)

the questioner has no integrity. It is clear that Obama did not "denounce" anything. He merely spoke the truth about the nature of his country's foundation. We are a country of freedom of conscience. In the words of Thomas Jefferson: "But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are twenty gods or no God. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg."
  • Chuck personman May 05, 2009 12:24:13
    Chuck
Furthermore, there is no room for twenty gods. Only one true God. People make their own gods believing that he is there to help them. Like Satan told Eve, "eat the
fruit and your eyes will open and you will be like God." Who wanted to be like God
more than Satan did? He had Eve to repeat his own sin.

The person that posted that picture up didn't write anything, she just posted a picture of a penny . With the writing on it, "In God we Trust".
Meaning, that a long time ago, a group of someones thought it important to put that sentiment on our money. Meaning that at one time, as a nation, we believed in God. Not the atheist country it seems to be turning into.

In God We Trust did not become the official U.S. national motto until after the passage of an Act of Congress in 1956.

In God We Trust first appeared on the 1864 two-cent coin..

November 13, 1861 - Secretary Chase received a letter from Rev. M.R. Watkinson that was instrumental in adding the motto “In God We Trust” to United State money.

Gee... a Reverend wanting to put god on our money....what a surprise...
