No, some people are not "more equal than others". But little should be done.

Either A equals B or it does not. Fourteen is not a dozen.

Equality is not a sliding scale. However, the question "Are people equal" would have different answers when applied to different aspects of people. Clearly, not all people are of equal intelligence, equal height, etc etc. I personally think that the only thing that makes people equal is potential for societal value(well, that's the only thing that comes to mind at this moment, feel free to add). Aside from that, we're all different in every imaginable way.

Please elaborate on your definition of equality?
Equal, more or less in what ways?.

Equality, in terms of social and economic opportunity.

Then the answer is yes, some people are more equal than others, and something should be done about it.
The top tier of the richest have doors open to them that the rest of us will never see.
The poorest have doors slammed in their faces.
In the middle, we are supposed to fork over our hard earned money to the Government, and ask no questions as to where or why it was wasted, and smile.
I don't know about you, but I am damned tired of smiling. LOL

There are different norms in different places and we are all equal - if we conform to the norms within our community - but not equal at all if we don't.
