This doesn't surprise me, I am not voting for either McCain or Obama
and said : God, I'm glad this day is finally here...on my way to the polls....you can see how I voted. It's a beautiful day here in Ky..so..on my way after that to take my grandkids to the park to bask in their pursuit of happiness.

Here's my story..
and said : Strange that this poll is here today. Last night I sat and went through many of the victims pictures and read about the events that took place. I actually become sick to my stomach when I do this. It's unimaginable that all of the persons responsible for this immense loss have not yet been captured and punished. Seeing these people on the web site is most difficult...brings home the true nature of this tragedy. I am constantly reminded of the New Yorkers and their immense courage and compassion throughout this period. The examples of love and heroism are endless. I happened to be off work that day and was keeping my first grandchild who was then 16 months old. Her mom had gotten home from her hospital shift around 8 am and Maddie was in her high chair watching cartoons or something..her mom had already gone to bed. The phone rang and it was Maddie's paternal grandmother(who worked at the same hospital..I had worked there also before for 16 years). She just told me to change the channel. As it sunk in I somehow knew that this was not just an accident. The news people were saying this but after they started to show the pics of the plane hitting the tower..I just had chills all over. Seems if it were dropping out of the sky the pilot may have at least had time to mayday or something.Of course after awhile the discussions began to take on a more sinister atmosphere. I did not wake my daughter as the morning progressed. I knew the world as she knew it had just changed forever...especially since I was sitting there on the floor right up in to the tv when the 2nd plane hit. I realized that the debris falling there on the screen..were people jumping to their deaths..the option they had chosen..at least most of them I suppose. Then..the terrible thoughts crept in that those towers were going to fall. I don't think I ever thought that they wouldn't...but also recognized the fact that the firemen and rescue people couldn't possible save these individuals. I prayed and prayed..over and over...as I watched them rushing in those buildings. Of course I was concerned if any day care centers were there...which I assumed there were some. Throughout this I was reliving the Kennedy assassination in my mind's eye..how we watched over and over on tv his brains blown out..the scene of me as a 12-yr-old sitting right on the floor in front of the set when Oswald was shot. My yelling at my mom to come..I'd just witnessed another murder. I spent the rest of the day alone there with Maddie....holding on to her and recall she was sad too as I cried and held her most of the day..I tried not to but it was all too consuming.Her grandmother called off and on and the hospital was on high alert and no one was allowed to come or go that day. Recall my shock that all air traffic was halted and wondered where other planes were and then the Pentagon events started flashing across the screen. I wondered where the President was...were the men and women of Congress safe somewhere....my brother at the time was an attorney for the state of Ky....I tried to reach him to no avail. I didn't know but what all government offices were targets. I finally got through and the state buildings were in lock down until they could evaluate more and send people home. Family of course called off and on all day...people trying to steady their voices and control their emotions. If I had to find one exact moment that impacted the events the deepest...it was the flight headed for Washington...the people on that flight who made an ultimate sacrifice for all of us. They weren't worried about whether or not one was Republican..Democrat..Indepen... what color each one's skin was...it didn't matter. I could feel the pride swell beyond belief and pondered whether or not my character could ever match theirs given the same situation. I still now wonder if we as Americans truly learned the life lesson in that. The faces are there...people who were taken in an instant that changed the world forever....we now had more in common with other countries who live in this fear day to day...who have suffered the losses of hate...I knew the day Kennedy died that we were far from safe waters...it shattered the confidence of the 50's...it would not come again...ever. I'd read Bobby Kennedy's book about what we had to fear in the future...there it was..all mapped out for us..no one was listening..watching. Terrorism was the game and we could never know the opponent's next move. There I was seeing it in living color and profoundly convinced we could not be hated more. Anger came later...bolied over and seem to consume me. Let's bomb the Hell out of the countryside until the dirty demons were wiped off the face of the earth. How could Americans not arm themselves and start just blowing up the world over there? Because..we ARE Americans..we ARE different..hopefully the majority of us are...hopefully this level of pure evil would not infiltrate the heart...of us. New York showed us that..New York gave and gave and took the lead with more than sacrifice and throughout. Those days that followed brought hope back that we are first keepers of our fellow men and women..in the face of this the world was watching..New Yorkers made history..in the hearts of...men. God bless every one of them.
