No it won't work
and said : It's only a temporary solution to a long term problem that will have to be paid back later. For example the stimulus package that bush passed before he left office was borrowed from the Chinese! Obama's stimulus packages is going to be a lot worse because you cannot just shovel money into the economy, that will cause nothing more than for the US Dollar's value to drop as you have to account for the suppy in circulation...

In California. there is/was talk in the state legislatures office about putting a 20% tax on Adult DVDS , Magazines - Etc. Is this fair ?

I'm asking a serious question here ... seriously not trying to insult people. I encounter a LOT of ignorance about socialism on a daily basis, and it's frustrating. So here's my question: Why do so many Progressives/Liberals seem to want all the trappings and institutions of a socialist state, but don't want to call it "socialism?" Why so squeamish? If I was a socialist and truly believed in a socialist agenda, I would openly admit it without any shame. Why are some people who are in fact socialists seemingly so afraid to be tagged with the label of "socialist?" Is this some kind of undiagnosed political schizophrenia? Or is it ignorance of the actual definition of "socialism?" Or is it simply dishonesty for the sake of political expediency? Or if you have a different answer, lay it on me ... Just to pre-empt the typical denials and accusations that I "don't even know what socialism is" or that I'm confusing socialism with communism, or whatever ... look, I know the definition of socialism. I know what it means. I'm not confused. It's crystal clear to me. Here's the definition we'll go ahead and use for the discussion, just so we can avoid the standard evasions: "Socialism refers to any one of various theories of economic organization advocating state, public or common worker ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods, and a society characterized by equal access to resources for all individuals with a more egalitarian method of compensation." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Socialism
