and said : 1ST ... you should have a third selection: DON'T CARE FOR EITHER, BUT ... It is in Hillary's interest regarding her public record to become Secretary of State. Most likely she will have more opportunities to establish a highly significant historic legacy as Secretary of State, and she probably would be able to become a Senator of New York again (so long as she does not precipitate a huge problem as Secretary of State).

and said : Back when I was in college (late 1970s) there was a common witticism about promiscuity: "you bet your dick". This refered to the risk of sexually transmitted diseases becoming a chronic problem for the rest of your life (eg. genital herpes). By the late 1980s the witticism became "you bet your life", because of HIV. While treatments of HIV enable some of those suffering it to survive a number of years without the precipitous loss of quality of life, the treaments are expensive (MANY people won't be able to afford them) and HIV positive life will not have as wide-open a set of social options as the promiscuous life-style the sufferer had enjoyed prior to the onset of HIV (which science is no closer to actually "curing" -- meaning still: once HIV positive, never again free of that). Also, "jelly" expresses it in a nut-shell below ...

and said : I have yet to hear any reasonable evidence/argument that the 9/11 attack was caused by other than Al-Qaida supported terrorists. A recent documentary on the History Channel objectively considered what evidence might indicate a "conspriacy" from within our society, and their simply is no plausible basis for this. Personally, from my substantial understanding of the potential and routine workings of the government agencies and individuals deeply involved in those operations, there is no significant pay-off from such a conspiracy: not power-shifting, not manipulation of popular opinion regarding centralizing power in federal agencies. The re-organizations of agencies and creation of a Homeland Security agency does not actually shift power, and the authority imbued in this re-organization readily can be further limited in the future.
