and said : The question was not "Will you please mention all examples of modern day evil" it was "Does evil exist." Obama answered the question well, mentioning a few examples of modern day evil to support his belief that yeah, evil does exist (pretty damn obvious). He mentioned Darfur where MANY more people are being killed, starved, and tortured every day than there are by Muslim extremists, so saying "Oh, he mentioned Darfur, so why not Muslim terrorism!?" just sounds a bit out of touch with reality. Furthermore, imo the best part of his answer lets us know exactly why he didn't mention Muslim extremism; he talks about evil being perpetrated in the attempt to absolve evil, and the necessity for us to be very careful when taking on such a task. Clearly as can be seen by this poll and many of the responses in it, the fact that he didn't mention Muslim extremism angered many here. Is evil not born of anger? Wouldn't chastising the most popular modern day religion not stir up anger amongst people and only lead to more evil? In his response he didn't alienate any specific group of people at all. Even when talking of Darfur, he mentioned the atrocities being committed there, but didn't call the actual people there evil, for that would solely lead to more evil. Basically, there are many many many sources of evil in this world. There are a good number that are more evil than Muslim extremism. If Obama had rattled off a list of every source of evil he thought existed, and didn't mention the terrorists, then you'd have a point. But the guy mentioned 1 specific example in his response to the question (Darfur), and there's no reason to be mad at him for not bringing up terrorism.

and said : he definitely needs somebody in touch with younger people, but i think the people that would vote for mccain wouldnt really care about the vp being young or old (unless hes prehistorically old like mccain)
