Time outs seem to work well in most households ... it's following thorough consistently that counts ... there should always be the same consequence for unacceptable behavior ... We had a two year old over Thanksgiving ... beautiful child ... but when she screamed to get her way she was given a time out in her room ... 10 minutes later she reappeared the glowing cherub we all know her to be ... most of the time ... I see no need for pullling anyones pants down, exposing their bare behind, and then spanking them ... it is a humiliating behavior, IMHO ... do you want the child to learn a respectful control of themselves and their behavior or humiliate them? ...

People tend to try to protect their version of reality, IMHO ... some need to "own" an issue ... it's their's and don't cross the line because somehow it threatens their narrow view of the world or their personal safety ... their comfort zone ... to some people these aren't just opinions or words typed on a page ... these posts can make them think ... question ... that can be scary stuff for "all or nothing" thinkers ...
