None of the above"as long as there are exams... there will be prayer in school." that being said... keep the prayers out of public schools. send your children to private religious schools if you want them to pray as a part of their day at school. Whatever religious prayer you wish to share with your children is your choice... and RIGHT since we live in this fine USA where our freedoms do ring loudly.

The other thingbroke people all over enjoy the holidays too!!!!!! many things can be given to family and friends that have little or no cost to you. hand made "coupons" are awesome!!!! (free back massage/night of babysitting/house cleaning/home cooked meal - to be used at another time) baked goodies are always good... cookies/banana bread/fudge/chocolate covered pretzels/whatever... and if u're feeling bold - host a cookie baking party where everyone brings ingredients and recipies to make together and share when finished. check out some thrift stores for simple things like candle holders/basket for previously mentioned baked goods/scarf n glove sets/silly hats mixed CD's of favorite songs art made by you.... in a dollar store frame holiday decorations for their room/house. 1 new ornament can be neat and not expensive. OR u could start a tradition of not giving gifts but sharing time together.... a simple gathering or pot luck dinner w/ friends or family is nice... especially if the homeowner doesn't have to clean up!!! I've got lots more ideas.... frugal is my name... and NOT spending oodles of $$ is my game!!!!4 days ago

yesi USED TO LOVE the holidays... as a child and as a parent when my kids were younger (and when we were still a family) the holidays were like magic!!!! i'd go all crazy martha stewart w/ decorations and baking and festivities!!!! the twinkly lights all over town, singing carols, the home made cookies we'd leave for santa, the tree trimming, the togetherness but most of all the magic of it all!!! *sigh* but now all i wanna do is fast-forward the time between veteran's day and new year's every year because it's a HUGE reminder of what used to be. this will be the 6th holiday season since my "family" split up and it's been harder and harder every year to get through it all. Sometimes i don't get to see my kids which is the worst and so i have no more attachment to this ridiculous time of year and to be honest I've just stopped giving a shit!!! Will someone please put me out of my misery or just let me sleep until new year's???

i did mouth offi have always been one to speak my mind.... and although i got in lots of trouble for it there were many times when a teacher was out of line or being ridiculous and needed to be told what's up by me!!!! i mean who else was gonna??? my woosy classmates - naw!!!!! so i spent much of my youth in the principals office for some random smart ass comment or other. i dont encourage my own children to do so but i would encourage them to stand up for themselves. looking back i feel i was right and justified about 1/2 of the time.... and just being a little bitch the other 1/2 and wish i could apologize for the times I was outta line.

Undecidedi gave back my DVR (tivo like thingy) to the cable company and cancelled service 4 months ago... so technically i don't watch TV anymore!!!! but.... shows i liked are: Californication Two and half men heroes CSI - LV the shield family guy how i met your mother and some BBC shows like: no heroics and monkey dust. TV hasn't wowed me since the strike happened.... so i gave it up. It has been very good for me to stop being bombarded w/ advertising since we gave up TV and i stopped listening to radio. we download shows for 99cents each on itunes or watch directly from the internet or rent DVD's for movies.... and save about $100 a month. 5 years ago i gave up newspapers and magazines and the tv guide... all in an effort to save $$$ and stop being harassed by advertisers!!!! I can watch news online.... read news online.... and browse magazines in line at the store or at the library if i choose. i'm not missing out on anything other than live feed of things like the superbowl or the grammy awards - which i can watch at any sports pub or friends house!!!
