About Me

July 12, 2014: Dear Friends: I've been on SH for over 5 years and I now have almost 800 friends! (Holy cow!) All of my friends know that I am a Scientologist - while probably 98% of my friends here are not involved in Scientology. That thrills me - because I enjoy associating with people from all different backgrounds - and this has enriched my life.

When I first arrived at SH, I was inundated by people who attacked me for my beliefs. I was one amongst maybe 4-5 Scientologists on SH. Interestingly, the attacks actually resulted in an out-pouring of support and I thank you so much for that. I have appreciated the intelligent private conversations I've had with so many, who have allowed me to clear up any misconceptions about my beliefs and the rumors. And while I don't expect or care that others believe as I do - what I have achieved with all of the 700+ friends here - is that we have certainly achieved a greater understanding and mutual respect.

It has honestly never been my purpose on SodaHead that anyone become a Scientologist - only to clear up any misunderstandings, rumors or questions, and to defend my right to practice my religion without being harassed for doing so. It is also my purpose on SodaHead to stand shoulder to shoulder with others who have experienced discrimination - whether it be for their religious orientation, sexual orientation, nationality, etc. I must say that I have seen a change for the better. I know that it is because some of the fiercest haters are gone - and maybe also because the newer people are kinder people, or maybe just a group of people who embraces diversity as I do.

Over the years I’ve realized that communicating via private message if you have a question about Scientology is the best avenue. Privately, I have promised you that I would answer all your questions and shy away from none -- and I will continue to do so.

So thank you again for your friendship. I'm overwhelmed.

When I first came to Sodahead, I was dismayed when I read the misconceptions folks had about Scientology. Over the few years, I have worked diligently to clear this up - and now, finally, I see results. The die-hard 'haters' are actually very few in numbers. Most who were critical, were getting distorted data from those 'haters'. Once I presented the facts, they were able to understand what Scientology was really about, & the attacks stopped. It was not my goal for people to become Scientologists - but to bring about understanding -- to allow me to believe as I choose without attacking me for that choice. Likewise, I grant others the respect to follow whatever path they may choose. I have made some wonderful friends here & look forward to making more in 2014 and 2015. To the over 30 SodaHeads who deleted their anti-scientology polls - THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!

MORE ABOUT ME: I am married, a mother of 2, a professional in the legal field. I grew up in NY and was educated there through graduate school. I have friends & family from all walks of life -- some who are atheists and many from different religious & ethnic backgrounds. My life has been enriched through these associations.

My daugher is 23 and my son, 26. Both are Scientologists. My son is an Eagle Scout, and volunteered in Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina. He is a Chef and his private catering business has taken off nicely. My daughter has been active in "Youth for Human Rights" & "Say No To Drugs" campaign. She is a very talented photographer and writer.

I just went to this site to find out "what color my name represents" http://blogthings.com/whatcol...

Here are my results:

"Your Name is White: Your name tells people that you have good intentions and a pure heart. You try to always speak the truth. You are happy to step back and let other people shine. You don't seek attention or acclaim.

People see you as someone who is generous and ethical. You can be counted on to do the right thing.

You are bright and clear headed. You can offer a fresh perspective, especially when other people are in a rut."

While I don't know that this describes who I am - it certainly encapsulates the qualities I strive to achieve.

I'd like to meet

People with a sense of humor. People of diverse backgrounds who share a deep respect for human rights and freedom of religion (which includes the freedom from religion). People who embrace diversity and can do so with respect and sensitivity.

“There is only one security, and when you've lost that security, you've lost everything you've got. And that is the security of confidence in yourself; to be, to create, to make any position you want to make for yourself. And when you lose that confidence, you've lost the only security you can have. ... One's belief in one's ability to determine his own course. As long as one has that, he's got the universe in his pocket. And when he hasn't got that, not all the pearls in China nor all the grain and corn in Iowa can give him security, because that's the only security there is.” L. Ron Hubbard

That Guy in the Glass
(by Dale Wimbrow – 1934)

When you get what you want in your struggle for self
and the world makes you king for a day,
then go to the mirror and look at yourself
and see what that guy has to say.
For it isn't your mother, brother or friends
whose judgment you must pass.
the person whose verdict counts most in your life
is the one staring back in the glass.
You can go down the pathway of years
receiving pats on the back as you pass,
but your final reward will be the heartaches and tears
if you cheated that guy in the glass.

The happiness of your life depends on the quality of your thoughts.

The heaviest thing you can carry is a grudge.

One thing you can give and still keep....is your word.

The pursuit of happiness is the chase of a lifetime!

It is never too late to become what you might have been.
