dude, the diet of speyer, 1529, lutherans were told they had to be catholics, the got up and left, (protesting) thus creating protestantism. it's where the term came from, lutherans/protestants did all sorts of walkouts instead of fighting. . .until they began to be hunted down and burned, that is. their fight was not with england until the tudor era.
