It's a little hard to take everything you say without proof (namely your personal experience, since others have had experiences that counter or conflict with the story you give) but I can say that, although he should never have used a racial slur, his dislike of his former captors is not an uncommon thing. Is it right? No. Is it justified? In his mind, having spent years in captivity, yes, but to the rest of us it seems wrong. What I do know is that regardless of his jokes or other asshole-ish behavior, his stance on most issues makes him a better candidate than Obama, who is at least equally questionable on morals and ethics and much less prepared to lead a nation.
