When Murnau made this I believe he truly caught the essence that Stoker intended for the terror in his audience. In classic German style not unlike the only other perfect classic of it's time -Metropolis which is a science fiction film created by the famed Austrian-German director Fritz Lang. And if you watch the 2 they are really quite comparable. The styles and the madness that set in on the characters are so compelling here that almost 100 years we are later fascinated by the perfection of them. In my opinion, as well as many in the film industry Metropolis is the finest film ever made. The new remake with today's modern music is quite interesting. It's my favorite of all my copies, and I have them all. And Nosferatu as for it , is still the finest vampire movie in history.
