This year has brought to light, for me, a lot of quietly held beliefs and added strength and force, and words, to them. I never named myself an Individualist but merely as an American. Until this year I thought that was enough... now I see the distinction. Individualism IS American... this great experiment in democracy, founded on the individual's right to a government of the people. I hope in my heart that most American also see the tragedy and danger in ending that 'experiment' and rewriting the foundation of this nation.
