I believe it has to do with some kind of old fashioned mindset, where people tend to think (incorrectly) that a male even at twelve is somehow able and willing to participate in such a thing, and I believe it has to do with their maleness. That if they were somehow able physically to participate, they couldn't be forced. And I think in this particular case, if the woman had been a plain middle aged appearing woman, she'd have been in hot water. But she was a young and Extremely attractive female, pin up beautiful, and a lot of people, and strangely men, (at least the men I work with) with an opinion on this particular case, kind of gave the impression that the boy was lucky to have a woman of her attributes shine her attention on him.
