It takes a lot of people to get a film green lit and even more people to make the actual film (when I watch the ending credits on some movies, there are literally hundreds of names involved). It probably cost the Hollywood industry a lot of money in loss profits preventing the honest 'Best Grip', 'Make-Up artist', or construction guy from getting paid their real worth. Bootlegging is definitely wrong. (more)

The funny thing, Top, is the bootlegs are usually of horribly poor quality, its cheaper to wait see the movie in the theatre.
