Would you feel the same about indie rock making emo kids listless, or heavy metal making listeners apathetic? Music doesn't make anyone one way or the other, it's their life and situations that shapes a person, if anything the music just provides the soundtrack to the angst, joy, etc the person is feeling at the moment.
