We must remember that civilzed behavior is formed by making it desirable for an individual to conform to social mores not by making everyone "comfortable" doing anything they wish. At this point I would hope the American Islamic community is a bit uneasy so they might have a desire to expose anyone else that may be considering such violence and take action to prevent such acts. It will be through such act and not just words that they will become a welcome and accepted part of our society.
