If it is done all the time then it will not hold weight. It shouldn't be meant to hurt the child either. Actually, we don't hit my stepson. He doesn't ever get to a point of needing a spanking. Good parenting can minimize spanking. I answered yes because I am not against it if done with caution. However, I am against "the paddle" at school. I don't think anyone other than parents should be disciplining on that level. (more)

You should hope that I am a "grammar nazi" as I am educating our children in this country. Besides, "english" is the subject at hand and you are demanding others know it when clearly you are lacking the fundamental skills. *LOL* (more) -

As a teacher, I usually correct people when they misuse concepts. Evidently, you didn't understand the meaning of the terms you were using and your recent comment hasn't exactly proved you comprehended what I was stating. To reiterate, I stated the term "liberal" has been distorted by BOTH liberals and conservatives. However, it is interesting to note that you expressed, "I had no idea that I as a Conservative had distorted anything" and then commented, "Your comment sounds typically Liberal, UnAmerican and also like someone that is filled with much anger." Thanks for proving my point!

I am 80% Native American (Navajo/Aztec). If you are saying I don't have a right to claim being Native American, well sweetie, that would be going against what the "American" law states. It says anyone who is 1/16 Native American is lawfully able to claim the Native American ancestry. Please adhere to the laws of your country.
Furthermore, please listen to your own advice and "patriot up." It is UNpatriotic in a Democracy/Republic to attack people based on their opinions. We should all be free to have our opinions without the fear of being ostracized. No need to throw up your gang signs (libs/cons) as they don't mean anything to me. If you feel the need to call yourself a proud conservative, congratulations! Personally, I'm too busy teaching English Language Arts to 8th and 9th graders in the south Bronx to worry about what the Sodahead liberals and conservatives are doing next. I don't buy into that gang mentality, which is why you no longer see much of my time spent on SH anymore. I'm totally over the ridiculous banter that occurs between people whose only mission is to start fights. But good luck to you on that... It is seems as though you receive joy from it.

When I stated that it embodies a liberal mentality, I meant the DENOTATION of the term... not the connotation. The distorted connotation that both liberals and conservatives have attached to it has taken away from a word which really means "free from prejudice and bigotry...open-mindedness... tolerant." ... And you are right, this should be the U.S. way. (I don't use the term America merely to describe our country but rather the continent as the term America is incorrectly used to describe a country when it is really two continents that include many countries.)
I wish the U.S. of A was still the home of the brave, my people. Unfortunately, many of my ancestors were "illegally" killed or shelved into reservations.
However, I do appreciate your interpretation, particularly the part which asks that we all live in peach and harmony. :) (more) -

~ Making generalizations as such only weakens your argument. If my 8th graders turned in a paper containing such blanket statements, it would be marked in red. Keep that in mind when teaching your beloved child.
Your comment is all over the place and not focused or appropriately written. You shoved in many thoughts in that were not brought up or part of the conversation. Please stay on topic. Furthermore, if you are so moved to bring up a new topic, you should start another paragraph to indicate that a new thought is being mentioned. Please also refrain from making assumptions. Questions are good absent of those assumptions. Forgive me for teaching the proper writing techniques; you mentioned you are teaching your children and I think it's crucial that you understand proper writing if you are going to relay it to others.
As far as your "9/11" claim, we don't know how Gore would have handled the situation. We only know how Bush and/or Cheney handled 9/11. Although I was behind Bush during the initial moments of 9/11, their decision to go to Iraq was a mistake... in my humble opinion. (more) -

You have what it takes to be an amazing wife or husband.
You are caring, patient, giving, and romantic. You are willing to work for a marriage.
More than anything, you're not about to let your ego ruin a relationship.
You are humble and unselfish. And that's the key to being a good spouse.

He asked me to marry him after being together a month, mind you we hadn't even lived in the same city yet (we had a long distance relationship. Him=NYC, Me= LA) I didn't accept until three months later when he moved to LA. We were married after living together a year and a half. We have been together for three years and each day gets better.
