Activities
Anything outdoors; bicycling, camping, hiking, hunting, etc.
Interests
Playing the piano, Scouting, Classical music, and previously kerosene lantern collecting, although I don't do this so much, anymore. I love writing, especially short stories, and find Nordic Art and Folklore fascinating.
Favorite Music
Classical. Current Favorites: Carl Nielsen, Per Nørgård, Magnus Lindberg, Dmitri Shostakovich, and Béla Bartók
Favorite Movies
Lonesome Dove, The Godfather, The Sting, The Shining, and Nosferatu. I've also liked a lot of the old foreign movies they play on TCM. I couldn't remember all their names, though, just that I like those kinds of movies.
Favorite Books
Too many to list. I'll read anything good, from most genres.
Favorite Quotes
"If music were to assume human form and explain its essence, it may say something like this: '...I love the vast surface of silence; and it is my chief delight to break it.'"
-Carl Nielsen
“Music is life, and, like life, inextinguishable.”
-Carl Nielsen
"It is dreadful when something weighs on your mind, not to have a soul to unburden yourself to. You know what I mean. I tell my piano the things I used to tell you."
-Frédéric Chopin
"The perfect is the enemy of the good enough."
-Voltaire
"I have never met a man so ignorant that I could not learn something from him."

Hi Adam. I'm a fellow Washingtonian. I was raised in Olympia. My folks brought us here in 1956 from Taiwan after Dad did a tour there with the army. This is my home. I've been all over the states and in several parts of the world in my life both with the Army and with other "jobs". I've always found my back. Now we're here for the duration. I picked up on your comment re: spring. The only good part of spring I tend to like is the unpredictable weather. I love a good storm and spring tends to provide them here in the great PNW. There's nowhere better in my book.

You seem to be an exceedingly sharp young man. I'm sure that your family is quite proud of you.
