  Look at this way, everything worth while is free. Shoot for the stars, what have you got to loose? You can't loose what you never had, and you migth just more than what you wanted. In the end, the bottom line is ; HOW BAD YOU WANT SOMETHING OR SOMEBODY.

  Your question is not at all dumb. When something like this happens to you it makes anyone wonder why was I spared, why am I here when the odds were so much against me. And to add to that the physical disability you refer to. You are here because God has a plan for you. It is not ever for us to know what his plan is but he does have one. It can be as simple as influencing someone you run across to make them better understand how someone can survive this but still keep on going. There is really no answer I can give you for why this happened and why you were spared other than that. You believe in God and that is very important.
  
  Let me tell you a story about someone I have met and what an inspiration he is. I volunteer for the American Red Cross good neighbor program. As part of that I deliver meals to the home bound. One of the men I deliver to is completely blind. I do not know him well and have no idea how he came to be blind but one look tells you he is. The thing is if you didn't notice his eyes it would be very easy to never suspect he is blind. I didn't the first time I delivered to him. I deliver a meal to him only once a week but he always remembers my name and when he hears my voice calls me by name. He opens the door with a very positive attitude and stands there waiting...

He clearly has learned to live with it and does not let it bother him in the least. I even saw him one day with family going into a restaurant.   You have nothing whatever to be ashamed of for what happened to you and you do quite well when writing to the post's on sodahead. There are people on sodahead that have not had your experience but are no where near as bright and expressive as you are. I have no doubt it is a challenge for you to do this but you do it very well. In many ways you remind me of the man I told you about. Never ever apologize for something you have no control over. You are doing very well and that is all that matters.
  
  As for questioning, why me, why did this happen to me, that is a perfectly normal human response. And even if you did question God for allowing this it is also perfectly normal. We are taught that God is there for us and when things happen like this we all question why he let it happen. What is important is that we keep a positive outlook and continue to believe he has a plan for us. You are still here and you can, and are, making the very best of it.
