About Me

I am a charge nurse of a trauma surgical unit. I take my job VERY seriously, it has been an obsession of mine to save lives since serving in the Army as a nurse. When someone is bleeding to death I want to help.
I am also happily married to a police officer that pops up in my conversations from time to time. We have a 2 year old son. 14-4-2012

I'm a pretty easy going person. I try to keep an open mind and not be judgemental, about people's lifestyle or political beliefs. My job is stressful and takes up a lot of my time. If you private message me it could be a few days before I get back to you, I'm not online everyday. I try to be a good friend but sometimes I'm not as good of a friend as I should be.

I value life greatly and do everything in my power to help those in need. My private message is always open for anyone that has medical questions. I may not know the answer but I will do everything I can to research and help as much as possible.
Take care and be safe, OTN

Maybe we'll get to see each other this weekend in the ER since I'll be working nights all weekend too. I always see you down there assessing the trauma patient we fly to you. I know you're usually too busy to talk though.

You're a good wife, OTN, and I hope your husband appreciates you. Yes, I would agree, I'd think being a trauma nurse would produce quite enough adrenaline!.......not to mention the nights when your husband does not get home exactly when you may think he should. Scary stuff, being married to a cop, but I think you both are mature enough, and have the insight to make it work, and your faith has got to play a part too. I know I am praying for your continued success, safety and wisdom.....and an increasing ability to keep all the balls in the air at the same time. Golly, you guys are just awesome and thank you for encouraging ME! It was really good to hear the guy you knew on Lysinopril recovered his full breathing capacity. My R.N. granddaughter works in "labor and delivery" and that right there can be traumatic for all concerned. My Doctor granddaughter is going to Ethiopia, where she can just practice good medicine, among people who need her skills, compassion, and the art, as well as the science of medicine......which I believe we are losing. All the training I got is EMT training.

I tell you, onetirednurse, I sure appreciate your input. You know, it sometimes gets old being old, alone and sick. I've had some monumental pity parties. In the literature that Walmart gives with LYSINOPRIL, it didn't mention breathing difficulties at all. I hope you are saying I'll get back my ability to breathe deeply again! I controlled my blood pressure a LOT with my deep-breathing exercises! A LOT! Jury is still out on the AMLODIPINE. So far am still using the CLONODINE..(the rescue pill), to keep it below 140. (They say 140 is high for me). SURELY AMLODIPINE WILL KICK IN AND WORK! Praise God I have the Clonidine, but it's sure a roller coaster. I follow all the rules you know. I lost 50 lbs., I exercise, lift weights, eat right, take my pill as directed, and do everything you are supposed to do. How come it isn't working????Never mind. You couldn't know, but I'm telling you, "following the rules" isn't any funner than high blood pressure, when it does not work!! I've been on the AMLODIPINE for 23 days now! At least LYSYNOPRIL WORKED! It kept my blood pressure down. Thanks agin, you are a good girl!.....er.....woman. Glad you are enjoying your "boredom". I suppose after months of adrenaline rushes in the combat zone, you would not miss the adrenaline,...

May God Bless you and yours, and keep you all safe, and your marriage too. (Police Officers have to really work on their marriages.)

Hi kiddo, thanks for asking. i appreciate that. Last summer a mini-stroke showed I had high blood pressure, and I began taking LYSINOPRIL.....and coughing 24 hours a day, no sleep, etc. I still can't take a really deep breath, like I was able to before, but am now on a different B.P. pill. (Also have a "Rescue" pill: CLONODINE), because the new drug takes a while to take affect. Like weeks. The new one is AMLODIPINE..and dang I hope this one lacks the side effects of that other one. I've lost a bunch of weight, and have continued my 4 mile an hour a day walk, but looks like I won't be able to keep it the B.P. down on my own, at least until I get back the ability to breath deeply, which I will. (Those breathing exercises did used to help.) Anyway....sorry to be so "wordy"....but you asked, and I appreciate the fact that you did! :) Makes me feel good.

Hi, O.T.N! I got hung up watching those kids see their parents when they came home from overseas! It has been a nice week-end, but overcast at the moment. Got home from Church and the cows were only staying in their own pastures by the Grace of God! Fence was clear down. Thank The Lord I caught it when I did. I'm not Pastoring a Church right now, but I was ordained in the Assembly of God Church. I go to meet with other believers every Sunday, but never get tired of it, nor can I get enough of God. I believe that any day now, our Heavenly Father is going to turn to Jesus and say: "Go bring our people home, Son". I am looking forward to that. Getting ready to plant more garden, and praying for the Wheat crop at the

I was disappointed in my Country when our Viet Nam Soldiers were treated the way they were. While I agree we probably shouldn't have been there, dang, the Soldiers who went didn't feel like they had a choice. It was either resign her commission, or go to see a shrink to help her deal with what she was seeing. Either way, her career was over, so she just resigned. She had put her brother through Med. school though. Hope you were/are being treated well by the V.A., and always will be. :) Best regards, Evan.
