I think the important thing to realize is that all mankind is flawed to varying degrees and the Bible was written by flawed people--transcribed, translated, and edited, all by flawed people. Does that mean it's not important? No, I read and follow the teachings of the Bible and Jesus to the best of my imperfect ability. Should you take the Bible literally? That's up to you. Any written document is going to lose social context over time. If we held to the original constitution, women wouldn't be allowed to vote. The Bible has sections that while were historically contextual, are socially out of date, and should be recognized as such in the assimilation of their meaning. (more)

I used to always say that I don't get lonely...I get bored. I am a very task driven person, and when there's no task, then I would just as rather find something to do than hang ... I am a very task driven person, and when there's no task, then I would just as rather find something to do than hang out and do nothing with others. It just depends on the situation. I'm not anti-people by any means, but as I get older, I'm finding time alone to myself is a luxury I don't get very often, so I usually relish it. (more)
