Maybe, they might even throw in some repetitive keyboard "riff," which always sounds completely dorky.
Chamillionare's "Ridin'" is strangely acceptable, though, (it's either the actual music in the back and the pretty good singing, or the Weird Al parody. lol). Del the Funky Homosapien isn't bad, either.
And thank god Saul Williams made the right move: write poetry instead of radio garbage, start singing, and bring in Trent freaking Reznor to produce your album! (more)

A strong bassline is almost always a plus. Of course, there's the possibility of overdoing it for anything, so...

I've always been more into bands like Nine Inch Nails, Rob/White Zombie, Static-X, Marilyn Manson, and the like than anything else. I like a lot of Heavy and Alternative Met...
