Anyone who can have a good conversation on many subjects and not get too serious if they differ with me.

Activities

Red Cross volunteer. Great-grandma babysitter at times. (Tiring with a 2 year old.

Interests

Swimming, Reading mystery and detective novels, Watching Tom Selleck on TV,taking care of my chihuahua named George 3d. He is so wise he should be running for president. Although he did have a bit of a scandalous past before he was rescued from a shelter by me.

Favorite Music

The Band, Bruce Springsteen, Tommy Dorsey

Favorite TV Shows

Reality and talk shows. Good movies when they come to the small screen.

Favorite Movies

Almost anything from the forties when color really became common. Sixties movies especially about Korea ,WW2 and Vietnam. British movies from the same era.

Favorite Books

Non-fiction, Biographies especially historical presidents and the U.S.

Favorite Quotes

Almost all good poetry from the 20th century. Especially Joyce Kilmer, "I think that I shall never see a poem as lovely as a tree",;" He was a friend to man and he lived in a house by the side of the road." Last one was by Homer, not a twentieth century poet. But I like it anyway.

Favorite Heroes

FDR , Captain Sultzberger, American G.I's,Lawrence Harry Hawkins,my children and grand-children.

I really sucked at Algebra, but once I got past it, it was smooth sailing. The worst was Mycology which I minored in. I had the most boring monotone professor for most of it. Thank goodness I was able to get into a mid morning class. It took a lot of coffee to stay awake for him. LOL

Hehe, Thank You. I'm kind of know as a mad scientist in the kitchen and I attribute that to Alton Brown. :>) I turned a degree in Botany to greater understanding of food.
