About Me

One of the interests that I've had all my life has been being a "political junkie". Being the daughter of a newspaperman, I cut my teeth on current events and news of the day, and I am not "torn" as to where my political leanings are, and that being a card carrying Liberal Democrat and a Wellstone one at that, a label I never dissed when dissing democrats and liberals was the thing to do!

I created and have been director of our Area Food Pantry for 30 years, retired from 10 years on the City Council, love to travel and Wisconsin has a lot of biking, hiking, skiing, and water activities..

Interests

They are many and varied. I enjoy all of our grandchildren's activities, good friends, new adventures, local, state and federal politics and their issues, an occasional movie, sewing, decorating, gardening.

C-Span, all Public offerings, MSNBC (Lawrence O'Donnell, Rachel Maddow, Ed Schultz, Martin Balzar, Chris Mathews) For fun I love watching HGTV and plot how I can get one of those designers to come to our house for free! (Especially the ones who landscape.)

Favorite Heroes

Having had a son who returned from Iraq just before Christmas 2011, I grew to have enormous respect for not only our young men and women serving our country but for the families that were left behind. Its hard to be both Mom and a Dad, keep the home together and the endless worry on top of that. We were there to support his family in every way possible but I thought a lot of those who don't have extended family nearby and I hope there are those who will take up the reins for them. Its a very difficult time.
