About Me

Hello, my name is Catherine and I love observing the wildlife of my country. Photography, birdwatching, traveling, journaling/writing (nonfiction) and drawing are my hobbies. Sitting and gazing at the rocky mountains of the West Coast is one of my favorite things to do. I could sit outside and scrutinize those rocks, shadows, shapes, value, textures, and lines all day. I like looking for faces in the mountains. I bird everywhere I go - God's creation of the bird never fails to amaze me. I particularly favor the corvids, that includes magpies, crows, jays, and ravens. I love anythings in nature that is bold or contrasting. My favorite animals are rhinos. I've always had this fascination for them and desire to help them and fight against the poaching of their horns. I respect everything in nature and plan to either be a wildlife photographer or a park ranger. Discovering is my favorite thing to do. Every single time I step outside, I either discover something new and spectacular or see an amazing thing. God provides us with excellent design and creation. I hope you all will understand the diversity and wonder of the beauty around you. God Bless.

Older music, mainly from the 1920s to the 1950s, Zoegirl, Christian music, Amy Grant, Disney music, classical.

Favorite TV Shows

Nature/wildlife/travel documentaries, anything interesting that provides neat information, Heckle and Jeckle.

Favorite Movies

Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron, Pixar (especially Cars, WALL-E, Ratatouille, Toy Story 1, 2, and 3, and Monster's Inc.) and Disney movies, Pirates! : Band of Misfits, The Secret Garden, Rio, Night at the Museum movies, To Kill A Mockingbird, Anastasia.

Favorite Books

The Bible, the Mark of the Lion Series, Banner in the Sky, Old Man and the Sea.

Favorite Heroes

Yeah but that was the most snow we had in 40 years. Usually when it snows we only get one or two inches.

Nice, we get snow once or twice a year. About 3 years we got 17 inches of snow and an inch of ice. I got out of school the week before winter break so I had a 3 week winter break. It was the only white Christmas I can remember.

Wow, that's even more then we get. We get about 150-200 raining days a year and about 50 inches of rain a year. It doesn't rain in the summer. When it's hot in the summer it's a dry heat so it isn't that bad here.
