Political Spectrum Quiz

Politically speaking, I get alot of crap for this. I tend to lean more progressive/liberal. Not far left, but I agree with liberals more than I do conservatives. I feel that regardless if you agree with abortion or not, it's a woman's choice. I'm pro-choice, and firm on that. I'm a huge supporter in same sex marriage. One of my best friends happens to be gay, and it kills me to see him not get the same rights as everyone else. It's something that doesnt effect anyone personally, let's not live in the stone age anymore. While Obamacare has its holes, I do believe every legal American citizen should have Health Care at a price they can afford. Many companies are too cheap to give their hard working employees benefits. I don't agree with a gun ban, but possibly more regulation on gun sales. Although unions can be corrupt, they protect the little guy, so I support them. But the corruption has to go. I don't support illegal immigration though, one thing I'm conservative on.

You’re a bright young man, somewhat misguided, unfortunately, as I, a dyed-in-the-wool Yankee fan, reluctantly keep an arm’s length from your progressive company. I strongly recommend you read the Constitution, front to back, left to right, up and down; the federalist papers (and they are lengthy) may reshape your opinion of just what makes this the greatest country in the history of modern man. You may be temporarily comfortable in your protected surrounding, and most likely never lived abroad; I have. From the UK to Australia, there is no other country in the world, which grants you, the individual, the freedom and liberty to express yourself, write your opinions and petition your government for grievances the way this country does.

May I recommend you go online, and subscribe to the Hillsdale College news letter, it’s free, you will be asked for a donation, don’t worry, they will not pressure you; then just read…you have a long life ahead, and trust me, knowledge, awareness and rational thinking will reap you rewards. You can blow me off as just another ‘conservative wack- job’ and that’s OK, being a conservative wack-job has afforded me 62 years reasonably good life, health, and the opportunity to help the misguided young folks. I'm amazed. As far as political spectrum, you're slightly down and left of what I used to be, before I got active on this site. I've said many things about progressives and LWNJs, and yet for all of my frustrated ranting you've perhaps been one of the most patient lefties when it comes to listening to me. This will sound odd, but I have to thank you. A lot of your fellow lefties would shut me out for far less criticisms I've stated, but even through the worst it never seems to bother you. I can respect that. I don't TRY to make enemies, but as a future political journalist, I know they are an inevitability, but I have to report and tell people how I see it even if they don't like it. Perhaps you respect that, even if you disagree with it.
