About Me

Firstly Thank you Ves so very much for helping me and tolerating me.

Who am I? I'm a guy... strictly speaking I'm a freaking unicorn. Yes unicorns exist, just read the bible...there are countless verses about us.
My name is Scott, just Scott...anything else and I will impale you, and not in the nice way. My age is unimportant as being a unicorn I can live for an age so time passes me by and I stopped bothering with recognising birthdays a long time ago, around the time the earth was flat, life was far more simpler then. back then. Good times, good times.
My political stand point is of no concern to you, as to why anyone cares for such trivial matters I am unaware of. Must we demonise each other simply for our political perspectives? Of course not, that only leads to a closed mind and a closed minds often stray into an idle mindset. No, one must be able to see the bigger picture, that means one must understand and learn all standpoints and ideas currently available, or at least try ones best.
There is only one God and she is the Invisible Pink Unicorn, bow down and praise her horny goodness!
I currently reside in the UK, where sadly a lot of my mystical friends have disappeared...out of the blue, Dragons, Giants, Cockatrice etc (again bible) all gone. I feel so very lonely at times, but between you and me, there is this hot filly down the road in this stable so who knows, might do something there.

I think that is enough of me, if you need to know anything else, then tough. Bugger off. Now to get on with my life:

"Whining? I am not "whining". I am complaining. Do you want to hear "whining"? (whines obnoxiously) This is whining! Ooohhhh! This harness is too tight! It's going to chafe! Can't you loosen it?! OH! It hurts and it's so rusty! Why didn't you clean it first?! It's gonna leave a stain, and the wagon's getting heavy! Why do I have to pull it?! "

If we're to operate off what Lewis said, which I'm using as the basis of my argument, then yes. And on that note, all angels had it should I recall correctly. Been a fair while since I read any Lewis, but quite certain that was part of it.

The argument isn't whether it's reasonable, just as to the origin of free will. Most Christian texts agree it came from God.

Ha, arguably speaking, most religious texts are filled with errs and contradictions. Hardly a fair thing to acknowledge and use as leverage in a friendly debate.

Christian dogma asserts that free will was designed by the deity, not by the angel Lucifer.

I read snippets several years ago. The Church will always edit out what they don't like -- no one likes having such material laying around that tarnishes their good reputation or makes them look bad. Quite certain they wish they could edit out a few recent happenings in their hierarchy....
And, quite honestly, I don't blame them for their dissociating from the gnostics. Bit of a kooky little group there -- once heard that there were some sects who thought sex was a sin. At least, I think it was gnostics, do hope I'm right in remembering that.
An ultimatum still has the effect of choice involved -- a gun being put to your head whilst you're being told to choose is still a choice regardless. On a less dramatic level if I say to my partner "I'm tired of you doing this to me, stop or I'm gone" I still give him a choice. It's his choice to carry on the behaviour and my choice to leave. The difference is that there's something hanging over your head.

And if I'm correct in assuming where you're going with that, for some people it might just be better for them to have something held over their heads. Extra incentive could very well be what's holding some people together and keeping them from doing anything particularly stupid or foul. Doesn't make it right, but it certainly keeps things interesting.
My views are presently rather skewed and a work in progress. But I have my reasons for believing what I do, most of which a Pullman man like yourself would laugh at.
I'm not going to entertain the liar comment, it's pointless and a loaded argument.
I could have guessed you were a Pullman guy. Not a Lewis girl myself really, but I have a bit of an envy for anyone that's solid in whatever they believe.
I feel just a little bit sceptical and like you actually are just being a tad proud.

Ringing any bells?
Joking? Or too proud to admit fault?
If you weren't joking, I'd probably go on to play devil's advocate and list off a few of the arguments made by Lewis, but I don't quite think you're a Lewis man. Just a hunch.
If Lucifer were created by God then that would mean his free will came from God, would it not?

You do realize that's a bit fallacious, don't you? Bit contrary to the actual belief.
For some absurd reason, I feel like this is what it must be like to get you out of the house. And that I will soon be encountering this exact scenario, possibly even the tea party.
With that being said, I have an aversion* to it because I'm not really a fan of this sort of thing. Not my brand of humor or the kind of thing that piques my interest. I dunno, not really into camp humor. I like witty stuff, or crude and blunt humor.
I'll watch it...
