About Me
Divorced, but I lived. In fact, I'm beginning to find my new, single life fascinating. I have 3 wonderful kids (would marry Mr. X again, in spite of his shortcomings just for the kids), two sons and one daughter. Have grandchildren--Trust me, I was a mere child when I married, so I'm not older than dirt, yet. There is a lot of life left in me, believe me!
I'm a teacher/librarian in a small, rural school district. Love my job, though I'm finding it more stressful than usual this year. If you want to know what books to get your kids, I'm the one to ask. I probably read more children's and young adult books, than regular adult books--an occupational hazard, I guess. I do love to read. It's right up there with playing on the computer.
I can be strong minded. I do have strong opinions, but I also try to be fair, most of the time. Sometimes, though, I like to push buttons or yank a person's chain a bit, just for fun. Sorry. I tend to be more liberal/libertarian. I do not mind reasonable discussions with open-minded people. If you can discuss without attacking, I'd love to hear your views, even if I disagree. Close-minded ditto heads do no apply.

Activities
Computing, reading, working out (though I don't do that as much as I should), various crafts and hobbies, singing (alto), gardening, travel. Wish I had unlimited resources to travel!
Interests
Reading, gardening, decorating and travel. Wish I had unlimited resources to travel. Love animals and kids, especially cats. I guess that's a librarian thing. There seems to be some unwritten rule that librarians must like and own cats. Also have a very large, bone-headed dog who is extremely loving, too.
Favorite Music
Classical, especially Handel, Bach, Mozart, Ravel, Debussy, and Vaughan-Williams. I also love folk music. Give me music that tells me a story!
Favorite TV Shows
I don't watch much TV since Mr. X left. I used to enjoy CSI Las Vegas and Gilmore Girls.
Favorite Movies
Sleepless in Seattle, The Last of the Mohicans, Roxanne, Meet the Robinsons
Favorite Books
Too many to list. I love fantasy, science fictions, and sometimes, even romance. I prefer fiction to nonfiction. I love the Harry Potter books. I think there are probably the best thing written for children in a long time. I love Anne McCaffrey and am sad that she's writing very little now, but happy that her son seems to be taking up on some of her stories. Mark Twain was a genius. I also love Robert Heinlein and David Eddings. It always seems like some of the best authors never seem to write all that I wished they would write.
Favorite Quotes
Certainly the game is rigged. Don't let that stop you; if you don't bet, you can't win.
A generation which ignores history has no past -- and no future.
Stupidity cannot be cured with money, or through education, or by legislation. Stupidity is not a sin, the victim can't help being stupid. But stupidity is the only universal capital crime; the sentence is death, there is no appeal, and execution is carried out automatically and without pity.
(all of the above by Robert Heinlein)
Humor is the great thing, the saving thing. The minute it crops up, all our irritations and resentments slip away and a sunny spirit takes their place.

Pardon me, Ma'am, if I seem too bold, however, thoughts explode out of my brain and must find their way into the written media...Ah...I know of you, your the teacher/librarian who secretly wore no panties, as she gently rubbed her legs together watching the male teachers and other staff, glancing occasionally at their "packages" to see if you could spot signs of arousal. Then a gentle brush-up in passing would give you a nice tingle, knowing the furious thoughts racing inside their brains as you continued on past...Sorry, just had to get that out, after seeing the pics you posted of the Librarians! I once knew one as depicted in your photo gallery...Hope my exclamations of this lusty nature don't offend...?
