About Me

Am married and live in a University community. Am a professional artist. Masters' degree in art therapy. Love animals . Travel a fair amount. Have two grown daughters and a grandson who is now a teenager.

Activities

Am a studio potter and sell consignment work and show in two galleries locally. Travel and meet others in field, and am closely allied with the Science community as my Husband is a Professor at the University here, and a particle physicist who works at Fermilab in Batavia, Il. and at CERN in Geneva, Switzerland (on the ATLAS experiment). Do alot of walking, and have always had trouble just sitting so I go!

Interests

Reading, traveling, art. outdoor gardening (all though where I live now has me re-thinking that ). Continuing to learn....

Favorite Music

Classical, love show tunes, (which I get a lot of s&^* about from my younger daughter). Brazilian jazz, folk, alternative rock. Oldies...just don't like to listen to one kind all the time. Oh, and how could I forget the Beatles, still have the orignial first edition of their first album in U.S.

Favorite TV Shows

Iron Chef America, TLC, Create (like D.I.Y.) Big World, little people.
CNN, Rachel Maddow, National Geographic, Animal Planet...don't watch alot of t.v., but try to catch or catch up on favorites. Love the Travel Channel and Food Channel...good substitute for going and snacking!

Favorite Movies

Any Monty Python, Fried Green Tomatoes, The Power of One, The Full Monty, Braveheart...so many I have seen and so many to see, cannot recall all of them. Add Young Frankenstein and O Brother Where Art Thou to that list too. Chocolat, Water for Chocolate, La Vie en Rose...

The Power of One by Bryce Courtennay, Dont Lets Go To The Dogs Tonite, by Alexandra Fuller. Water for Elephants, by Sara Gruen, The Secret Life of Bees, by Sue Monk Kidd, Night, by Elie Wiesel, Providence of a Sparrow, by Chris Chester, MisQuoting Jesus, by Bart Ehrman (all his books are excellent!) . Animals In Translation, by Temple Grandin, The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins. Always have a good new book to read and re-read some of the old favorites when traveling.
