The Child is the Father of the Man

I look back at my childhood and clichés struggle with Freud and Webster.
Imagined insults and fears covered me then but I shed them and washed them away.
Youth wasn’t fun either but I learned that talent only goes so far, experience does.

I am now a man of middle years.
I don’t cry so much any more, maybe a trail every couple of years.
But I find myself now again in a dark hall with tall ceilings. Not an inviting place.
Too many doors, like in my youth; confusing and without a compass.

Hindsight is a smoke-grimed mirror.
However bad my childhood was I could still see blue skies and sunny days over the shoulder of my reflection.
Why has my strength left me?
I have many regrets but they lay in the shadow of my accomplishments.
I have to remember this!

I promise Lord to fill the glass again.
Maybe only halfway but I will reach for the top…not the bottom anymore!

Put your small hand in mine, Father, and lead me forward to blue skies and sunny days again.

Amen.

In the immortal words of Socrates....I drank what?

Actually color was never an issue with me but if you want to add racism to your resume' feel free. Pretty sure being an imbecile comes in every color and you have the entire rainbow in your pocket.

Yep, we're pigs! My daughter is finally learning about men through me. We're slobs, make unusual noises, smell bad occasionally and dogs adore us! LOL!
"Mom? Do I have to marry a man like Daddy?" she asked her mother. "Doesn't matter who you marry dear, there'll all like that."
...I didn't think it was funny.

Try to fathom the hypocrisy of a
Government that requires every citizen
to prove they are insured; but not
everyone must prove they are a citizen.

Even James Carville knows you people are idiots that can't think for themselves:

"The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.

Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality. What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.

The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.

Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.” — James Carville, career Democrat operative most famously during the Clinton years.
