  • Hello.
I have returned from DC and I was told many times that this was the best weather in a long time.
I expected rain, high humidity and sweltering heat. But it was dry, low humidity and the temperatures were just perfect.
A very nice trip. My congress woman even got me passes to the White House, Capital, Supreme Court and more. I even saw the President before he left for Russia.
Mount Vernon was a special tour too. To think I was standing where George Washington ate, slept and died too soon.
4 days of Museums and those giant movie screens and I still only saw part of DC.
One thing for sure, I am very tired, but it was worth it.
The Spanish armor was on display at the Smithsonian. Amazing that I was looking at painting of men in the exact same armor that was on display.
Funny thing, I could fit in those suits. They were small back then.

  • Thanks for the Positive outlook.
You are the future of this great country.
Don't give up or give in.
There will always come a day when you will look back and ask yourself if you made the right choices, shared the right answers and cared.
Be one of those that can smile at those choices later on.
It's not easy and finding support is a challenge to say the least, but being proud of your contribution is far better than facing the past with regrets.

I do have stories, that's for sure. Not many folks around to tell them to anymore.
That's why I like SodaHead. All different kinds of people with all different outlooks. We don't always agree and some more vigorously than others, but we do get to share, learn and hopefully find some common ground.

  • Its the SC soverignty flag first flown in the 1830s to proclaim South Carolinas right to nullify anything they saw fit to (nullification crisis, Calhoun and all that) and was later raised after SC seceeded (but its not considered a flag of the confederacy) and was actually raised over Yale in support of the states secession. My use is the 10th ammendment state is greater than fed.....I too am a History teacher, thanks for the add
