I sure see a lot of posts from you. Granted they are sending God's word to the world, but I found it ironic that you tell people to get off the computer and go do God's work... God works in strange, and mysterious ways.

I am all for Volunteerism, and I believe everyone should give back in some way or another, but I do not think the Federal Government has any business overseeing these programs. I, for one, want as little government interference in my life as possible. Less governement equals more freedom, IMO. Charity begins at home, within small communities, churches, civic organizations, and neighborhoods. Bureaucrats know very little about the needs of an individual community.

Hi, again
Thanks for the cherry-blossom pics, which still give me a pang! I quite understand about kids' stuff tethering you to home. The odd thing is, once they're out of the house, that's the stuff you miss most. :)
I'll look forward to your impressions whenever you do get back to DC. Meanwhile, Happy Mother's Day. One of my kids is coming into town to spend 2 whole days with me, one-on-one. Hooray!
Blessings always,

Hi, Scoop
Remember me? With Spring finally arrived here in Western NY, I was missing all the more the cherry blossoms and lush blooms of DC and my former, lovely walkways in Washington Channel Park, and that reminds me: Did you and your family get back to DC for the Cherry Blossom Festival this year?
Hope you and yours are well and happy.
Blessings,

Yep, sounds like you made it to my little park, all right. You're entirely welcome, Scoop. I'm delighted everything went so well and that your family had such a good time. I hope you do go back this spring. Washington is breathtaking when the cherry blossoms are out, especially the Tidal Basin. That phenomenal view of the Jefferson Memorial! And after that, the flowers bloom in succeeding waves, thanks to vision and hard work of Lady Bird Johnson. I've never seen Spring look prettier than in DC and along the surrounding highways. Also, the National Gallery and several other museums time their big, blow-out exhibitions with the Cherry Blossom Festival. After the inaugural crowds, you'll be a pro at handling all the people! I agree: the spirit of unity and brotherhood was palpable even through my TV screen.

Hi! The trip was fabulous! Thanks for asking. I think we made it to your park. We found 'a' park along the Potomac, with a lovely walk way and views that were just beautiful! There were benches now and again, which did my aching feet a lot of good! We did walk a lot! The crowds were tremendous, but everyone was happy, polite and so helpful! It was amazing to see so many people cooperating and celebrating together. Obama was not my choice, but if he does nothing more than unify so many people, I reckon he's made his mark.
Our daughter loved the Spy Museum the best. The Newseum was very interesting, too. Arlington was quite moving. The Metro was so efficient, and easy to use! My whole family wants to go back. I'd like to see DC during Cherry Blossom time. Thanks again for your tips!
