I am very involved with the Scottish organizations here in the Atlanta area, as well as in the South. If you come to the Scottish Games at Stone Mountain, I will be one of the men running the Massed Bands. My parents came from Scotland and because of that I am into anything Scottish in a big way.

    +3 raves As you know Sister, my wife taught for 40 years and for the last 10 of those years, it seems her ... As you know Sister, my wife taught for 40 years and for the last 10 of those years, it seems her discipline problems rose to cause problems with her being able to teach. The administrators turn a blind eye to these problems and want the teachers to pass these children, who eventually will wind up on the streets without any type of basic knowledge to help them in life. Thank God my wife went against the norm and made these children adhere to the discipline of learning and fought the effort to "PASS THEM ON", which is what the system wants. Unfortunately, there aren't enough teachers like my wife with the guts to do this!!! The majority of our high school graduates coming out of public schools can't even read or write at a 4th grade level. What does that tell you about our educational system??? Parents don't back the teachers and try to blame the teachers for every failure of their children. Parents need to take the responsibility for the disciplining of their children and leave the teacher alone to teach!!!! (more)

Sounds like you want the government (read Bush) to be held responsible for this unfortunate happening. How do you propose that the issue be handled? I, for one, feel that there were mistakes made,but why blame the government for suicide bombers such as these people that took control of the aircraft?? Are you trying to say that the government could have stopped them? How? I think you are barking up a tree that holds no answers that would satisfy you!!! (more)

    +4 raves Here in Georgia, there is the Hope Sholarship, funded by the lottery. I don't think that ther... Here in Georgia, there is the Hope Sholarship, funded by the lottery. I don't think that there is an age limit, just that you maintain a 3.0 to get the scholarship and then keep that 3.0 GPA to retain the scholarship. It pays for tuition and some towards books. My daughter graduated from college using that scholarship and it was Godsend!!!! (more)

    +2 raves I play it, regularly. The Lottery here puts money into scholarships for students that maintain a ... I play it, regularly. The Lottery here puts money into scholarships for students that maintain a B average (3.0 GPA) for instate college tuition and a little for books. My daughter qualified and it saved me a bunch of money. BTW, she graduated Cum Laude in Education from Georgia Southern University!!! (more)
