About Me

Jesus follower, wife, mother, gramma, farmer, musician and pet owner.
I have fourteen kids, however, ten of them are goats - whew!

Sara Palin. Whether she goes to the Whitehouse or back to Alaska, I would love to sit down and talk to her for a while. She is a great American in my book. My daughter would gladly look after little Trig while we talk.

If you don't see me in the barn, I'm probably curled up with a good book. I don't cook much but that's okay, my husband likes his own cooking better. "knock yourself out babe."

Goats, goats, goats. There is nothing better than when the new goat babies arrive. I love birthing them, worring over them and training them. Anyone who watches baby goats very long, would see exactly what I mean.

I also love science. I love to study anything particularly as it pertains to creation. I'm a history buff, I dig politics (have been known to yell at the TV on occasion) and I home school my daughter.

Mostly Christian contemporary, however I also enjoy music from other cultures. Native American pipes, African vocals, Irish music and such. Some classical music can bring tears to my eyes, but for the most part, I enjoy contemporary chord progressions. The Transiberian Orchastra is one of my favorites too.

Extreme Makeover - Home Edition. I really don't watch much else.

African Queen; Bringing Up Baby; Anna and the King; Narnia series; Life is Beautiful; Fiddler on the Roof; Glory; Jacob the Liar; What About Bob; Trains, Planes and Automobiles

The Bible; The Shack; Velvet Elvis; "Black", "Red" and "White", by Ted Decker; Heidi; Chronicles of Narnia; The Ship Who Sang;

"The difference that makes no difference makes no difference." Mr Spock
He is no fool who gives what he cannot keep to gain what he cannot lose." Jim Elliot
All that evil needs to triumph is for good men to do nothing."

  • Hey, thanks so much for the raves! Yes my wife has two pygmy goats and she just loves them :) I just couldn't help but give you the raves. I just love good country people that are on the right track. We do the primitive camping to get away from modern society. It is always hard to step out of one of those camps and face real life again. lol We are planning on moving to the Colorado mountains and homesteading because we love that way of life so much. It is very nice meeting you and I look forward to getting to know you better :) life lol planning moving colorado mountains homesteading love life meeting

  • Thanks for the beautiful picture of the Alpine. I used to raise them. Great milkers and basketball sized udders. Great animals. togs (toggenburgs) weren't too bad either, although their udders were not quite basketball sized.

    They are fun to chase...

  • I am not trying to hurt or upset people with this question on forgiveness. If you took offense at my response I apologize. I am simply trying to get two very well structured definitions for forgiveness... either from a societal point or a Christian side. Please don't think I am being snobby when i respond I try to let everyone say their piece. I just need more clarification.

It is good to be reminded that God hasn't lost control of things. He didn't wake up one morning and say, "Oh no, Obama is President. What do I do?"

If America would turn her heart back to God, the worst president couldn't destroy her. If she doesn't - the best president couldn't save her.

However, they were pushed West by the white migration, and South by the Iroquois so I'm not sure any lived here at the time of the Pilgrims. (more)

My life has meaning because I finally understand that I'm part of something much bigger than myself - or my life. I'm part of a story that began in the Garden of Eden, and culminates when God's Kingdom comes to this planet and His will is done on Earth as it is in Heaven. It's quite a ride in the meantime, but my faith in God makes all the pain make sense. (more)

But I don't need to read the bill to know how unworkable it is to have the government run health care. Lets say, for the sake of argument, that the Obama Administration pulls it off with aplomb. They manage to run this thing without corruption and actually make health care better. (I don't think for a minute that any government can accomplish this) But for the sake of the point, lets just say it turns into a great success. What about the next administration. Or the next.

You're young, so I amagine you are in the same "live forever" mode I was in at your age. But giving the government that kind of power over your health decisions is just plain scary. I think of the bone headed things an insurance company does - to save a dime. like saying, "No, you don't need the meds the doctor prescribed. Take these cheaper ones instead." Why would I want a bigger, more corrupt organization making those decisions.

Lets come up with a way to reform the insurance companies. Not create a bigger monster.

BTW - this is not a bash. Just honest concerns.
